We all have bands that we loved that have broken up...
Some due to death, some due to fights, some due to direction or whatever...
Which band would you put back together if you could? And which band do you miss the most?!
Me there are a few, but Uncle Tupelo always comes to mind...lightning in a bottle, and the further you pull away, the greater it gets...
Don't get me wrong Wilco and Son Volt are in my regular rotation, but damn if give anything to see Tupelo...
So what's your dinosaur band, fossilized in your memory?

Like, c'mon man. Seriously. Just tour for gawds sakes.
Lynyrd Skynyrd left us too soon.
They broke up when I was in high school. That and STP in a short period of time killed me.

I've seen countless bands and always loved REM, but never saw them, no idea why...
The Clash...stupid breakup of one of the most innovative Punk bands ever...
The Police...top of the world and egos destroyed it all....

Luckily some of my all time favourite bands have got back together recently (Afghan Whigs, Sebadoh, Faith No More) so there's always hope
As far as people that have passed, I'd love to be able to get Blind Melon (with Shannon) and The Jimi Hendrix Experience back together

This not due a breakup or any of the sort but Neil Peart hatred of touring and being away from his family. Touring takes some much out of him he just feels he can't play at the high level he's used to. Besides after R40 he feels it's best to retire on top. I still would like for them to release one more studio album in say two years from now would be great but I don't see it happening.
Peace
