I'm hearing chatter of going after both Miller & Chapman. I don't know. While it would be great to have both, I fear what we'd have to give in return. At least one of the big names would have to go.

Rumor is Contreras being called up Friday. Wonder if Montero is going to DL or even better, being shopped.

Relievers are always a gamble. I wouldn't give up Russell, Baez, Almora, Contreras or Schwarber. Id give up Montero or Soler.

Either way, Miggy can't feel too comfortable right now. Ross is playing well and the kid is hitting like .350 in Iowa. Miggy's bat is mostly absent this year and my grandma could steal a base off of him. I see absolutely no reason to carry 3 catchers. I guess they'll see how the kid can play...and if he lives up to the hype, Miggy's days are limited.

will schwarber ever be able to fit in as a position player? guess we won't know for a while. I see him as a DH but they will have to get someone amazing in return.

Lol. You think the yankees would take miggy and/or solar for chapman? Unlikely. Ship baez off. He's got some potential. But hes really not needed.

I realize, they wouldn't but i wouldn't give up on Baez. Great fielder who can play IF and OF and who has hit well this year. No way id trade him with the value he already has and potential he does have.

How long has it been since the cubs had a closer that didn't scare the shit out of you every time they came out? Chapman would be the guy that would allow you to breathe easy in the 9th. Baez is expendible. It's not giving up on him. It's going after and filling a need.

There is only 1 closer ever I'd feel comfortable with and he's retired. He also blew game 7 of the WS in 2001.

    It's only 2 games.

    And Baez isn't going anywhere.

How many has he blown in 2 seasons? I've never liked the guy. Chapman or miller would be a huge upgrade.

Is that the same Chapman who choked his girlfriend and fired a gun in his garage?

    That's the same guy?

Yesterday's game was kind of heartbreaking.

Eddie and Jose Cardenal singing the 7th inning stretch today.

Pretty damned cool since Mr. Vedder is Cardenal's biggest fan.
