Last night was torture. When bryant hit that homerun and Almora caught that ball the next inning, I didn't think there was a chance we could lose. But we still have 2 more games to finish this out. The Giants still can't hit and they don't have a number 4 starter worth 10 cents. I'm feeling good about lackey tonight.

WHERE THE FUCK HAS RIZZO BEEN??

Rizzo has been MIA so far. And if not for what most think is probably a Cubs friendly call last night on that replay, he hasn't done anything noteworthy on D either (not that he did anything besides make a routine pick on a phenomenal play by Baez).

I hope we're not sleeping on Matt Moore. He's no ace, but he's a solid pitcher. Our leg up here is Maddon - since he'll know about anything you need to know about him. That familiarity plays into our favor, but only slightly.

You can bet your ass Lackey is going to be one fired up sonofabitch tonight. The guy loves these scenarios. Let's hope he doesn't turn into the Lackey of last fall and give up a bunch of homers like he did to us.

Time to take care of business. We're better than this team. I don't want to see a game 5.

Don't really have a dog in this fight but what was with that celebration after Arrieta's HR? It was the 2nd inning and only 3-0.
    Alright, alright, alright!

It was a pitcher hitting a homerun in the playoffs - if you're talking about the bench......And off the most dominating postseason pitcher of a generation - if not longer. And if you're talking about on this thread - look no further than my response directly afterward, because I was far from celebrating like the game was over.

I was referring to the bench not this thread. Time, place & score.

You have your ace, defending Cy Young award winner who threw the only no-hitter this season going up against their ace, the most dominant postseason pitcher in baseball history... both of whom can rake at the plate... and he smacks a 3-run homer off him! 2nd inning or 8th inning, that calls for the team celebrating their guy!

That's fine. Just appeared over the top to a neutral baseball fan. Cleveland's series winning celebration didn't appear as grand.

I think it does. Rizzo is going off. Matt Moore is not a great pitcher. He's got a career ERA of about 4. He's not going to over power anyone. Cubs should win in blowout fasion.

Bad thing is the Cubs have made pitchers with 4.00+ ERAs look like Cy Young candidates all season. Hopefully that motif doesn't follow tonight!

I keep waiting for the "offense explosion" that the broadcast team has been talking about.
