I think these NBA Finals are going to be great. Hoping Lebron can find a way to get another ring

I don't know how doug collins is still on tv. how many teams does he have to ruin before people realize how dumb he is?

Eikhoff isn't anything special. Reminds me of a vance worley/JA Happ type.

We will see on Herrera. He won a minor league batting title. He could always hit, even when he played 2B (his approach has def improved though). I love the kid Kingery they picked last year -- he sounds like their 2b of the future. Herrera's best spot is prob LF.

Point is Baumann always overestimates the phils prospects. He's one of the many reasons I stopped reading crashburn alley. all unicorns and rainbows on that site.
Crashburn has always been one of the most critical sites regarding the Phils over the years. They've been more supportive over last year or two with how the Phils have rebuilt their organization but, clearly, they are not alone in that assessment.

And Baumann has written anything there since last year anyway.

Verne has gotten old and senile. He calls guys by the wrong name a lot.
See that makes no difference to me. Did it bother you when Harry made lots of mistakes towards the end? The great one's deserve some leeway in their later years. They still follow the same principles of letting the game breath and not ruining it with constant conversation like the younger guys do all the time.

Michaels needs to go. McCarthy is the worst. I like Buck and Aikman. Dan Shulman and Bilas are good. Raf is great. Verne is good. I'm rooting against Lebron because of his fake hairline and I like Iggy.
    Alright, alright, alright!

on the radio or is that when we can buy them? have to drive to DC in the rain this afternoon --- brutal. Do everything in my power to avoid friday afternoon appointments, especially in DC. after my ride home I see myself drinking heavily tonight.

Nothing better to do when it's suppose to rain all weekend as well. I, on the other hand, am doing something much worse - 3 Phils games in 4 days.

It's when they're on sale in the store.

Whether on crashburn or hard ball talk, Baer was always one of his and Amaro's harshest critics.

Do you not read hbt because he's one of their main writers now?

I don't read either of those sites. A lot of that has to do with Baer, yes. John Sickels is another guy I won't read because I think he's a waste of time

This is huge...would be nice if they made an international splash for a change.

At $5,610,800, the Phillies have the largest bonus pool for the upcoming 2016-17 international signing period. That’s more than double what most teams have, with the bottom 15 teams all having pools between $2-$2.5 million.

Fact that baer even asks the question of whether phils should release howard is my point. That should have happened 2-3 years ago once the rebuild started. I think Baer is a dope -- he should be writing for the inquirer or DN

good calls on McDonough and Shulman. I think Shulman is really good and underrated. Shulman is great at college hoops.

McCarthy is beyond annoying on the Phils but I actually think he is a pretty good College hoops announcer. less time to chatter and giggle doing hoops.

What about Mike Emerick? to me he can get annoying during the regular season but is great come playoff time.

I know you didn't ask me this, but I find myself not reading Hardball Talk nearly as much as I used to ever since the new layout. I can't stand it. I am not usually one to complain about that kind of stuff, but I just have a tough time with it.

Absolutely - Comcast/NBC has destroyed all of their sites.

Fuck. Bill Lyon has Alzheimer's. I didn't know that. Probably my favorite columnist in this city. The last great one. He came in and talked to my journalism class in high school once just because another kid asked him to in a letter. Great guy. This is sad--
