I saw rizzo's deal when he signed a few years back. 7 years $41 mill. Wow that's a value. With arrietta the tone of his comments make me feel he's frustrated a long term deal is not done. Especially when he's at his peak value.

Rizzo is the best first baseman in the national league. Period. So yes, that is a bargain. I wouldn't be surprised if rizzo would ask for more money in the next year or two. But rizzo hasn't shown to be that kind of guy.

No doubt especially if he's still performing well. 2-3 extension would work for both.

Even when Rizzo signed, he did so at that time at a discount. He could have gotten a lot more $$ if he wanted. I love seeing that.
Arrieta is going to milk every cent out of the Cubs or any other team he ends up on.

Soler and Heyward really struggling at plate. Not gonna win em all but when your 2 worst starters (statistically) pitch great and you lose em both it's frustrating.

Yeah, it's tough to see a team so loaded struggle at a couple positions.
I'm not as concerned with Heyward as I am Soler. Heyward's bat will come around, he just needs to work deeper into counts and keep his OBP up. And he's a stud at right and a great base runner.
Left field is the biggest hole. Soler can hit the ball a mile, but the dude strikes out too often and never gets on base. I think he needs to go down to Iowa for a bit.

Id be fine with that. The best Cubs lineup right now has Bryant in LF and Baez at 3B, IMO.

Another W. I only want Cahill and Richard pitching if we are up big or down big cause it leaves some room for error. It'd be nice if either could have an outing without giving up any runs.

Dragging ass today after last nights game. Left after 11 innings, about 11pm and watched the rest on my phone on the ride home. When your pregnant wife wants to leave you oblige!

Cardinals looking like shit first quarter of the season. Hopefully they'll pick it up and the Cubs will simmer down a bit.

Playing down to the competition. Better show up in sf and stl. Patience is about done with jhey at the plate. Zero reason for him in the 2 hole.
