The whole album sounds like Thom Yorke put on a Pure Moods CD and recorded himself whining over it. Glad y'all like it, but I think it fucking blows.Star Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250

I just listened to this for the seventh time, the first time with a pair of high quality headphones, and I don't see how this won't be my album of the year. Not that it matters to anyone but me lol.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I am going to wait and hear the new album when I see them in August. I like my first memory of a song to be formed while seeing it performed live.0

This is true. Radiohead is genius. Pearl Jam is great. Working in a university math department, there's a lot of great people up there I'd rather hang out with than the few geniuses. But I don't get the two confused.dkast85 said:Jones Beach II (2000), Holmdel (2003), Camden I, East Rutherford II, Gorge I, Gorge II (2006), MSG I, Boston II (2008), Spectrum II, Spectrum III, Spectrum IV (2009), MSG I, MSG II (2010), Prague (2012), Philly I (2013), Philly I, Philly II, Fenway I (2016), Fenway I (2018), MSG (2022), MSG I, Fenway 1 (2024)0 -

The first time i listened to this album, I was thinking "this is ALL we get after the long wait"......about 5 listens later, I am on board and this is a great record!! Decks Dark is a jam! Desert Island Disk is great too " You Know what i mean" Damn its infectious. Love when an album grows on you. :-)0

Thats on point. Yes!1STmammal2wearPants said:it's extremely melodic, and more of a cousin to In Rainbows in that it's a band effort. .

I don't know if I'm putting it at AOTY, just yet, but the more I listen to it, the more it blows me away. That's the type of album that has longevity for me. I like a record that makes you work a little. I was blasting this in my car and was amazed by the superior beauty of the mix and sound. My car stereo sucks, yet it still shined.SVRDhand13 said:I just listened to this for the seventh time, the first time with a pair of high quality headphones, and I don't see how this won't be my album of the year. I made the mistake of giving this album a first listen while driving to work with a distracted mind. I called it boring and forgettable. I might still feel that way over time, but it definitely seemed way more interesting to me when i played it in a dark room laying in bed last night. Will give it some more time, it might be clicking.0

On first listen I thought this is not the summer jam I will be blasting from my car haha. Definitely a headphone experience. Curious to see how they come off live.Lifted said:I made the mistake of giving this album a first listen while driving to work with a distracted mind. I called it boring and forgettable. I think this record is Johnny vs Thom. they are almost to the point that the Beatles were when they tried to make Let It Be. 2 songwriters pulling in 2 different directions.
still about 1/2 of the album is excellent. and I am sure it will grow on me.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446

I'd say Johnny and Thom are the most aligned in terms of vision.0

I am not so sure.... sounds like Thom is singing over a trip hop beat and then johnny comes in with some beautiful orchestral scores. it works on some songs but on others it just doesn't sound right to me.Tim Simmons said:I'd say Johnny and Thom are the most aligned in terms of vision.
I do think they are probably the only members with input nowadays.

It's definitely Thom and Johnny orchestrating their visions on the rest of the band but, I have no doubt at all that Nigel played a huge part in the final product that is AMSP.ALPINE VALLEY MUSIC THEATRE 1992
