  • Kind of ironic/sad that his only #1 album hits when he's dead

  • My favorite Bowie album is station to station. All of his albums are great and so diverse. Each will bring you on a different adventure. I always hated the 80s! My favorite bands like the stones, the who all put out mediocre stuff in the 80s (just my opinion). Bowie shined in that decade...i invite his 80s catalogue w open arms
Talented talented man. If not for his own music, but he produced iggy pop and Lou reed's BEST stuff. Wrote Mott the hoople's biggest hit.
I am absolutely crushed that he is no longer with us.
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

Black Star is a phenomenal album - found a high quality vinyl rip - definatley a headphone or good system album - FM radio and streaming do not do it justice. :glasses:

  • i use to see tony springer in a hendrix cover band called fire in the early 1980's
bowie was always great for picking new/great guitar player and inviting them to play
this guy is still great and bowie knew it

Today I'm listening to the album for the first time through headphones (Sennheisers).
Man, it almost sounds like I'm in the studio as the tracks are being cut live!
The strings and the flute on the title track and the horns, piano and backing vocals on 'Pity...' are as if I'd never noticed them before.
Track by track I'm rediscovering this masterpiece - precisely five Sundays (and countless listens) from my first introduction to the album.
    Well, thank you again David!

Yeah, 'Girl Loves Me' is an interesting song, isn't it?
Any idea what kind of slang Bowie is singing or did he just make it all up?

"Cheena so sound, so titi up this malcheck, say
