"David Bowie channeled everything to everyone, a beacon of light to the freaks and the outcasts and great pop/funk/rock/glam/tech songs for the masses. The most oblique of strategies. The truest of original song makers. He will be greatly missed"
-Jeff Ament
i'm still in awe at how jeff seemed to capture exactly what i would have said but he said it with such insight and grace
and this still freaks me out

On MTV I'm watching DBs concert at Hammersmith Odeon in 1973. It's a cinema-verite footage of the rock singer alter ego
Ziggy Stardust...Awesome show.

Did you fall asleep because of the movie?? Surely not - that's a really good film! With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
I started it late when I was restless.PJ_Soul said:

The song was originally from the movie Cat People.

Yeah... Pretty sure the song is also called Cat People. The "putting out fire" part is in brackets after that. That's how I've always seen it listed, anyway.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:

Don't make me go to my Cat People soundtrack CD (when I bought it... it was the only way to get that song!).PJ_Soul said:

The friend who brought me to this show just sent me this review and told me there's an audio link on youtube to 12 of the 17 songs on this AMAZING setlist. Just search for "Bowie Kit Kat Klub"
So grateful to have been at this show!

I had a dream the other night that I was interviewing David Bowie. It was a very casual interview as we were standing outside in a field near a semi-rural road. Once in a while when a car would come in our directions and David put out his arm like he was hitch hiking only he kept his hand in a fist without his thumb showing. When the car got somewhat close, he put his arm down and turned away from the road. Sometimes, when I asked him about this music or that, or about a recording and such, he answered briefly and then asked what I thought. He was quite the gentleman, and a very enjoyable time it was!
