i personally love the bootlegs but sometimes i think a bit to much of ten,i think some songs of the other albums dont get even played hardly marker in the sand etc
too much? Ten is their most successful album to date. Not going anywhere anytime soon IMHO. I think they do a bang up job of mixing up the sets myself.
Personally I could do without as much from Ten but then you would lose a lot of the crowd which would be worse. When you think about it there five songs out of 30 so not horrible. Even Flow, Alive, Black, Porch, Jeremy with a Why Go, once or Release thrown in sometimes.

I agree, the songs off Ten are what help sell tickets. vast majority of people going to the shows are going to see their big hitters.
...got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...
^ that, and there are always people going where it's their first show, and i'm sure first-time fans - whether casual or longtime - want to hear the hits from their biggest record.
I do, I love Pearl Jam, I like Ten A LOT, but it's my least fav, every show lots of Ten song get played, fact, but another fact is that Ten is a fan favorite, both hardcore and casual, so no wonder it gets played a lot, I believe that Even Flow, Alive and Porch always should be in a PJ set, I know they will always be, some might add Black and Jeremy, I'm not that sure about that, the rest can be interchange, I've been only to five shows, always the same city, and except for Oceans, I got all the songs at least once, and currently, except for Oceans, all Ten songs get their fair share in every tour...
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...
I could hear Release Garden and Why Go at every show. Those rock live. Haven't heard Deep yet, so that's my Ten whale. Black and Once are also good live. Even Flow is just too good to leave off too. The rest can be shelved for a little while.
I love Even Flow, and Why Go for that matter, and the way the boys mix it up is pretty awesome, but I would love to be at or hear about a Riot Act heavy show...

Agreed, but you won't catch me complaining. They can play whatever the hell they want to, as long as I can go.
And the sun it may be shining . . . but there's an ocean in my eyes

Totally agree. I don't think they play too much Ten. They just don't play nearly enough from No Code through Self-Titled. I REALLY wish they'd change that. If that means less from Ten, so be it. But still, you don't see me complaining at a show either!

I'm surprised the band plays as much of Ten as they do on tour but I never get tired of hearing it. I would love to hear them play it in it's entirety in concert. I personally could do without anything after Riot Act but I realize the band has to promote their new music to try and stay relevant.

While most of us here like everything, but a lot of people at the shows know stuff from their more popular albums. I dragged my friend to the Moline show, and he was lost during No Code. But when they played Garden, he's singing right along. In the end I think they do a good job, considering different people of different levels of fan-hood are at all of these shows.
Think about if they played Even Flow every night or Grievance every night. We all would be hanging Grievance in the public square. The songs off of Ten are all-time.
i would lose it if i finally got to check off once, garden, or oceans. ten is insane live. porch rips, mike on alive is crazy. that album isnt going anywhere anytime soon lol. that being said you also have the people who are looking to "check off songs" and complete albums they have seen live (i need rats and dissident for vs and in hiding and push/pull for yeild lol) lol but id love to see no code, binaural hardly ever gets played, aand to cross of inside job from avacado is in my top 5 i havent seen. i like how it is now though. its a pretty good mix up of mystery every single night (will they open with xxx, do you think they will play xxx, etc.) philly 1 and 2 are 2 completely different shows. one was a "hits" show and night one was more of a fan show. 10 is who they are and its imho a great album and awesome live.
My only suggestion would be to switch where they are played in the set. Maybe alive main set and Evenflow in an encore. Porch as a non set closer, release to open the second set or close a show....
^ yeah, spice it up a little - throw us off lol. But I am thankful that Pearl Jam constantly changes up their sets, few bands do and that is pretty special.
I would draw the line at 5 songs from any given album, so that you can get some variety (unless you are going for a Moline type show and playing an album in its entirety). Songs from Ten are a big hit amongst the crowds, so I understand why the shows may be Ten-heavy.
And we do need more Oceans and Garden.
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream... If I knew where it was I would take you there.

Good idea. It's too predictable now.
