Last night was so much fun. I still cannot wrap my brain around the dominance of Jake. The way he stood up for himself after getting plunked w/ his whole team behind him was one of the most meaningful CUB moments of my life. That is what Winners are made of.... Very very fun night in wrigleyville.

Hey Speedy, you been throwing for Kings yet? I wrote a few asshole snaggers tickets the other day for snagging north of the Fullerton bridge.

    Sean Rodriguez?

You are a complete and total FUCKING MORON!!!

Now go spend the next 6 months taking care of that little issue you have with anger.

    You blithering FUCKING IDIOT!

I heard he also broke his hand a few years back punching a locker..what I dumb fuck!

I was a nervous wreck yesterday. All day I was a mess. When you have been a Cubs fan for 40 or so years, you cant help but think the worst, come playoff time.

But Arietta was dominating. Schwarber is a BEAST.
And SPEEDY is happier than a pig in shit!

Lets go to St. Louis and kick some ass!!!

I know anytime Pitt got someone on base in the late stages I couldn't help but think of 84 and 03. Just waiting for something strange to happen.

The last Cub pitcher to throw a complete game shutout with 10 or more K's in a postseason game...

Orval Overall in game 5 (the last game) of the 1908 World Series.

i know this is going to sound cruel but watching the game it was kind of cool to see the Cubs fans shitting a brick even up 4-0. they showed one guy in the stands who looked scared to death. from the outside gamed looked completely over once Arrieta got McCutcheon out and never seemed to be any chance the Pirates were coming back but as a Philly sports fan I totally get it.

good luck and beat those fuckers the Cardinals
  • Wahoo Cubs fans! Such excitement in your world!! All the Way baby, All the Way. Glad you got Theo from us to help make it happen. Go Cubbies!!!!

Yep. When you deal with that much futility for so long, it's instilled to just expect the worst. Leon Durham in 84. Alex Gonzalez in 03. Completely shitting the bed in 89, 98, 07, & 08. On Addison Russell's error that loaded the bases, I went "Oh fuck, here we god damn go again" and just prayed that Jake 'Orioletta' didn't materialize.

Of course you had a bad feeling.
It was a perfect scenario for another Cubs disaster.
The best pitcher in baseball, at the moment, hits a batter, Russell makes an error, and all of a sudden the bases are loaded. It was time for another EPIC collapse!

Thanks for the bs start times mlb, we just got you the highest rated wc game ever by a large margin, but lets give the Dodgers and their 3rd to 7th inning fan base and ny's second class team the primetime slot.

Well that fucking sucked. This ones not on Lester. Score some fn runs. Yes Cuzzi was consistantly inconsistent with the zone all night. With pitches 3 inches inside or outside being called strikes all night why not take a hack at them? You have to make adjustments. Lastly for fucks sake never ever pitch strop vs stl ever again.

So, today is the BIGGEST game the Cubs have played in quite some time.
Gotta split these 1st 2 in St. Louis.

What do you think? If we win today, then of course Arietta goes in game 3.
Do you pitch Lester in game 4, on short rest?

Must win today...not sure about Lester on short rest if they win today and arrieta wins on Monday..lets see how it pans out. I would prefer to see him in game 5 at slu if needed. What i do know is that we're not going anywhere unless rizz and Bryant start hitting. They have not looked so good the past 2 games.

I wish tbs would take that strike zone box off screen..I think that has been off in all the games I have watched. No doubt there have been some questionable balls and strikes but to me that box has been way off. I think it's MLB network or fox who only shows it on questionable pitches.. I prefer that.
