Really? Divorced three times but against gay marriage?!?!?

Reading about this on another site, there was an example I thought was spot on. A man who is an orthodox Jew said that as part of observing his strict dietary rules, he can't combine meat and milk products. But he said that if he were a county official and someone wanted to open a cheeseburger stand on his street, no way could he use his religious beliefs to deny that person a permit.

And I agree, this thread has been all over the map. It's been pretty hilarious when it's stayed on topic.

i saw that davis is going to appeal the ruling that she is in contempt of court for failing to issue the marriage licenses.

let me get this straight.

she refuses to issue the licenses. she has been ordered to issue them by a judge, and this has been upheld by the supreme court. still she refuses. that is the definition of contempt of court.

who are they going to appeal to? the supreme court has already weighed in on the issue.

It seems that the wording is vague enough that many people interpret how they wish and use it to justify whatever actions they take. A clear description would be most helpful and greatly appreciated. apparently it means that she (edit to clarify that by SHE i mean Ms. Davis) has the right to choose which laws to follow. according to huckabee this is the case.

god's will is whatever the congregation says it is. which is absolutely ridiculous because there are thousands of churches with thousands of preachers with thousands of interpretations of what to follow and what not to follow in the bible. it is a sham. follow it all, or shut up with your selective quoting of it.

And about Trump? NO. Not my circus- not my monkees. These are serious times and they call for serious people.

The two most repeated phrases in the Bible are FEAR NOT. REMEMBER. If any of your faith leaders is fear mongering, telling you to build walls instead tearing them down, instead of scaling them to feed hungry people, encouraging any sort of us vs. them mentality…THINK HARD. The Gospel says: Do not be afraid. Re-member. Re-member is the opposite of dis-member. When we shut our doors to our own family: when we are afraid of each other - we are dismembered. The kingdom of God comes when we treat each other like KIN. Like family. When we RE-MEMBER.
