agreed, especially when the screwed over members won't even identify these "pillars". apparently they don't wana hurt their feelings.

It's not about hurting anyone's feelings. But calling them out here, by name, is not the right place to do so. This transaction, despite being slimy which we can all agree on, had nothing to do with this forum or the Ten Club.
If they've ran shady, behind-the-back deals on here, then call them out for those specific incidents. But there is no need to start calling names on Lost Dogs for something that had nothing to do with Lost Dogs. Sluggo has taken the high road & shown he is the better person with outstanding character. That is something to vouch for.

This is a forum, which means it's open grounds to talk about anything and anyone. No one is protected here, that's the beauty of it. If you don't act maturely or you pull some shit on someone then by all means this is absolutely THE PLACE to drop those names. Without the risk of being put up in front of the world to show what you've done, there's no policing the crooks. Out them dude, fo sho. I would in a heartbeat.

kinda pretty much agree, give them a chance to come clean and make it right blah blah.

I've only called others out 2 or 3 times of posting in someone thread selling something saying the price was too high, just because they were ripping other fans off big time. Like $30 for a bouncy ball or $60 a used shirt...

Thankfully I've never had a problem with any trade on here and everyone's been awesome!

I guess all I'm saying is that everyone should have a fair chance at the shit they want. The world is corrupt, we all know that, but our own integrity is all we have as fans in this community. I feel
like the big members of this board should be showing the new guys and gals that this kind of shit is not accepted and that we all fight to keep this a community, not a scamming board.

And since the big members of the board should be seen as role models, they should act like it or face the consequences, which is to have their bullshit made public. That's the only way it's kept honest.

I don't like the idea of pointing fingers either, but without the fear of public forum display of your actions, what's to deter a crook?

I've been gone most of the day and am catching up with this thread.

Look bottom line is the people who did this are on these forums and have been friends of mine for years. As much as I'd love to just blow up the dam right now I am trying to give them a chance to contact me and figure it out.

I've literally traveled with collectors, waited overnight at the pop up shop,etc with many collectors who have them become great friends. Had conversions that go well beyond pearl jam, so as angry and crushed as I am, I'd prefer to give them a chance to contact me and figure out a way to correct this as much as possible. They know many different ways to reach me...

Hopefully they do that instead of hiding in the background ignoring this post among other conversations that have been had about this horrible situation in the very immediate aftermath. I feel I deserve more than that.

you're a good man sluggo... and you do deserve more than the "pillars" just hiding in the bucklebrush. knowing now you've actually met and have been befriended by these people makes it even worse. fake fantasy world internet "friends" is one thing, flesh and blood as you describe is another in my opinion. and you mention other slimy behavior in the past. you wonder, if the actions from the past were called out, maybe this newest experience wouldn't have happened? all in all, although ive never met you, i can tell you are a pillar of class and humility.

That's what I was thinking too. They don't want a lower price on eBay to influence the perceived value of the item. Especially if it lowers the value of their collection. Pretty shady stuff when keeps the item out of other collector's hands

Guys - this has *nothing* to do with protecting the value of items. Absolutely zero. This is such a rare piece that you don't have to worry about protecting prices, hence the $1,200 price tag originally.

This is about an item selling to someone else that they wanted... and they went behind the auction to try and undo it for more money so they could get it for themselves or the person they were originally try to find one for in other places.

As I said - they might not have spent the time to see who bought it when the emailed, which doesn't make it any better to screw someone over. But that's why I'm trying to give them a chance to contact me first... I didn't start this thread but I did feel the need to vent once I saw it since Tempo didn't actually miss it... he wouldn't have received it even if he saw it first.

So hopefully they contact me first... as a friend they should at least be honest, but they've had over 48 hours now and have seen multiple conversations about it, so hopefully it's an honest mistake that can be corrected and they'll get in touch with me. They know where to find me on here, facebook, whatsapp, etc...

It also has to do with them saying they don't make any money or perks off running giant sales of rare shit. Well before this discussion this week anybody with half a brain knew that was COMPLETE BULLSHIT.

It probably won't. As this whole thing shows, money trumps loyalty/friendship/etc.

If I said who it was and they ran an awesome sale would anyone really say "No thanks, you're a dirty collector?" I doubt it... and I don't blame them. It happened to me so I'm bitter, but to everyone else it's just he said/he said.

I know some people are making guesses as to who it is and I'm not going to name names until they've had a chance to make it right. I'd like to hope if I did it to someone else they'd give me that chance before plastering me name everywhere too.

I'll be waiting by the phone, as the old kids say.
