who are "these guys"? sluggo, why wouldn't you call this/these guys out for doing you wrong? I'm confused...0

I have a good idea, too. Hope I'm wrong.2-feign-reluctance said:I have it figured out who Dr. is talking about, and I'd love to just out and say it here because many of you wouldn't believe it.

There seems to be a lot wrong in this thread about what happened. And I'm sorry op, if it sold on ebay that should have been the end of it.
As for the seller, I can't say that if someone offered me more money that I wouldn't do the same thing, take the higher bid and your bad feedback (though the bid should def have been during the auction). Seems like the $ always wins.Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?0 -
Edit after rereading the thread if these "pillars" are going out of their way to make sure other big time collectors like the op aren't able to get their hands on things easily for any reason, well they just don't sound like pearl jam fans to me. I mean we're PJ fans - we look out for each other, right?a5pj said:There seems to be a lot wrong in this thread about what happened. Sorry This happened Dr. This sounds like total bullshit. Not only everything that has already been said but it also sucks that these "experts" are driving prices up too! The prices on PJ "collectables" are getting fucking ridiculous.0

Wouldn't matter if they were outed. It wouldn't change what's been going on. I think anyone with half a sense knows there's always a dodgy side to things and collecting isn't free from it. As a pre-teen I watched my best friend's Dad wheel, deal, and scheme in both good and not so good on sports collectibles. It's an obsession that in some cases and for some people in all cases is merciless. Sports collectibles, real estate, business of any sort, and PJ merch. I think some folks don't choose to believe this side of the PJ merch world because it would taint the 'spirit' of things. I think people should start facing up to the fact that there some really dodgy people who also happen to like Pearl Jam.rustneversleeps said:who are "these guys"? sluggo, why wouldn't you call this/these guys out for doing you wrong? 100% agree with you. People have different forms of obsession when it comes to this band. Some people absolutely need to be right in front of Ed on the rail and will line up for days while other people will do whatever to get every type of merch/historical item associated with pj. I m glad I love my bootlegs and like to see pj when I can buy I m not gonna mortgage my house to do it.2-feign-reluctance said:

Yup. You guys are right on. I like some PJ merch just as much as the next person but I have no interest other than wearing, using or spinning my merch.mcgruff10 said:

Complete dick move on the part of the seller and back door buyer.
A finalized auction or BIN on ebay is a legally binding contract. By the seller not completing the deal and issuing an unwanted, unrequested refund instead of shipping the item, then completing a back door deal, the seller is breaking the laws of the contract. File suit.
However, calling them out (by name) here is not really warranted and will do no good for anyone involved. Even if these people are forum members, it was an ebay transaction not an insubordinately ran private auction on Lost Dogs.Post edited by HesCalledDyer onStar Lake 00 / Pittsburgh 03 / State College 03 / Bristow 03 / Cleveland 06 / Camden II 06 / DC 08 / Pittsburgh 13 / Baltimore 13 / Charlottesville 13 / Cincinnati 14 / St. Paul 14 / Hampton 16 / Wrigley I 16 / Wrigley II 16 / Baltimore 20 / Camden 22 / Baltimore 24 / Raleigh I 25 / Raleigh II 25 / Pittsburgh I 250 -
and hey, let me be clear that I'm not likening every collector as some dodgy fucker. That's a broad stroke and not true. I'm saying that as with anything, especially the internet, there's always more than meets the eye. I don't mind talking about it out loud, but there's a culture in this world where stuff like this not discussed because it might hurt someone's feelings. I wish we all could have a more honest dialogue on here in particular, but that won't ever happen in a way that creates real change to the obssessive collecting side of things.www.cluthelee.com0

It seems these collectors are putting that hobby above being fans of the band. The collection obsession has really caused people to lose their minds. These guys aren't just collectors. They're market manipulators. It sounds like they are attempting to undermine the market and keep prices artificially high to justify their own past purchases, and protect their "investments". i'd be blowing him/her/them up on here without question, regardless of whether or not its going to make a difference. of course there's dodgy shit going on, that doesn't mean you just accept it and take the ram rod, all while showing allegiance to the people by withholding their name(s). hurt someones feelings? really?0

This is crap no matter how you want to spin it. What worries me is that these are supposed to be pillars of the community (by someone else's standards, not mine). So next time we see in the Lost Dogs forum that..."I vouch for this member, he's/she's a good person"....I just don't have any comfort in that what-so-ever.Soldier Field, Chicago, IL 7-11-1995; United Center, Chicago, IL 6-29-1998; MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV 10-22-2000 ~PJ10~; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 4-1-2003; Cricket Pavilion, Phoenix, AZ 6-7-2003; United Center, Chicago, IL 6-18-2003; Alpine Valley, East Troy, WI 6-21-2003; Fox Theatre, St. Louis, MO 10-5-2004; The Gorge, George, WA 9-1-2005; United Center, Chicago, IL 5-16-2006; United Center, Chicago, IL 5-17-2006; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 7-2-2006; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 7-3-2006; United Center, Chicago, IL 8-23-2009; United Center, Chicago, IL 8-24-2009; Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC 12-4-2013; Key Arena, Seattle, WA 12-6-2013; iWireless Arena, Moline, IL 10-17-2014 ~No Code Show~; Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul, MN 10-19-2014; Bradley Center, Milwaukee, WI 10-20-2014 ~Yield Show~; Pepsi Center, Denver, CO 10-22-2014 ~PJ24~: Wrigley Field 1 & 2, 2016; Safeco Field, Seattle Home Shows 1 & 2; Wrigley Field, Chicago Away Shows 1 & 2....0

These member(s) have run some pretty high priced deals (or was that an auction?) on here. While this specific case involves eBay, it isn't just isolated to eBay. It goes over to the Facebook 'traders' page or whatever the hell that is too.HesCalledDyer said:Complete dick move on the part of the seller and back door buyer.
