The seller's info is out there, and there's nothing more I can do than leave negative feedback.

Really this is the fault of the person/people who contacted the seller and told them to cancel and sell to them. Sure it's the seller's fault, but if we're to pretend on here we're looking out for each other, blowing up other people's finalized deals is beyond dirty.

This same thing happened to me a few months ago after a pair of people on here knew I had paid for it, and they *still* gave the seller a hard time about me buying it for what the seller asked for it. Then when I asked them why they did it (after I had to pay 2x the amount to get it), they said "You should feel lucky you got it that cheap."

But hey, what are friends for?

Not true. You can report the seller to eBay. I've done it. Might not immediately resolve anything, but the seller will likely be on eBay's radar for a while.

Let's have some names here. If they are doing dodgy shit like that on eBay, then who's to say it wouldn't happen to someone on here?

This is a cd, I don't care how rare or old it is. Isn't it a cd.

To the big collector's on here it sure as hell isn't. People get obsessed with shit. It's kind of sick really.

It's absolutely sick. It's why I don't know why I even like collecting stuff -- at the end of the day it's all just stuff that sits around. But like my old Cubs and Bulls cards... it's fun. It's a combo of being able to cross off those really unique items and of course the thrill of the hunt.

Not for everyone though, and I often wish I didn't have the collectors bug in me.

And I'm not going to name names. They are here often enough and pay as much attention to collecting here as anyone that they should just come out and say "Yeah I got it and I don't care about how I did it."

But they won't, because it would shatter the image of being integral pillars of the PJ collecting community... or just being honest in their dealings.

I'm right there with you my pj collection is pretty decent, and I spend a lot of money on vinyl like pj20 gitd but that is an amazingly cool item. This is a cd, a cd. It can be copied and reproduced. That's just my point of view. I spend crazy money on posters but again very cool posters from pj. I don't know I guess it's all about the chase and the hunt I get it but at the end of the day it's a cd. Pearl jam collecting is probably at its highest mainstream right now. I started collecting on vinyl when virology came out. We would go at midnight to tower records and that's what started it all for me. The good old days when the fan club sent you a mailer and you could check off what poster you wanted and add a second choice if they didn't have what u wanted. Then u got to go get a money order. I think I always got my first choice though. The internet drives me a little crazy now:)

I have people all the time that would like to sell me things, cool things. At full blown retail...

It would be completely heinous if it turned out these 'pillars' were working together to see to it that only the most sought after PJ stuff on eBay, here, Discogs, etc,, ended up in their hands only, or in the hands of people they want.

People do want it in the hands of serious collectors though. Collector to collector not flipper. I understand why it happens.

TNG, I agree with you on this, but in this case it sound like the highest dollar did the convincing not the decision of who was the best suited pillar/collector to carry on this piece...

The accused do not dictate who flippers may or may not be by seeing to it that they get high end PJ merch. They have no business undercutting someone like Dr says they did. That's bullshit and just gross behavior.

    That's a good price. I would've paid $1200 too!

At the end of the day the biggest thing that bothers me is that other collectors will screw their friends over to get what they want after a deal is made and paid for. If it's open for bids/offers and someone will offer more no one would complain... it's when people are going back on done deals and getting them undone that it turns beyond dirty.

I'm mad the seller canceled on me and listened to the other person(s), but if we're being good to each other it wouldn't come to that.

Whatever the case, I hope it's worth it to them to do this to their so called friends.

I agree whole heartedly if it were like that, but it's not.

I made it sound like it's smoke and mirrors but that is far from it.

    My bad Chris!

Me too. Hell if he / she had a 2nd & 3rd Reeenk Roink @ that price, I would of bought all 3.

It does suck the seller refunded drsluggo.

It also sucks that Dr. is saying these guys are basically telling seller's what their stuff is worth, even after completed deals. And in a some instances after being contacted by these guys, realize they were selling their prized PJ stuff for far less than these two guys think it's worth. I think we are giving these guys Dr. is talking about too much credit. They shouldn't be the final word on what is worth what in PJ merch land, much less fucking up completed deals across multiple online forums/venues. It's all subjective when it comes to worth. If I want to try and sell my PJ20 poster for $500, successfully sell it to someone for that price THEN get contacted back channel by someone saying, hey man, that's too low a price for that, I'm an 'expert' you see? I'm a well respected 'trader' who knows their shit AND BY THE WAY, I'LL GIVE YOU $1K FOR YOUR POSTER. I'm mean what in the fuck people? You aren't doing someone a favor by dictating pricing in Dr's case, and makes me wonder what other sly dodgy stuff you are up to on here, eBay, Facebook. I mean, who gives a shit if someone gets a great deal on something. Isn't that supposed to be great? Isn't that supposed to be something like, 'hey, good for you man! I know you've been saving up for awhile and you scored a great deal"?
