What a terrific show last night in Detroit! Spotted a PJ Detroit shirt and a blue 10c shirt, plus a sweet Y1ELD license plate with a PJ sticker in the parking lot--was that anyone here?

I love it when I'm looking forward to the opener just as much as the main act, which was the case last night. BoH were fantastic, per usual. I could not stop laughing after Ben was like "this one's a sensitive one about how I feel inside, yall" before going straight into No One's Gonna Love You

But Neil. Neil F'in Young. He is as good as ever. I love how every time I see him, it's a completely different experience. I've seen him 3 times since 2011, and it's been solo acoustic, with Crazy Horse, and now with Promise of the Real. Who, by the way, seriously, seriously impressed me. They gelled together so seamlessly, and it looked like Neil was having a blast playing with them. I liked the format of Neil solo acoustic, then acoustic guitar with the band, then electric with the band. I think my highlight from last night was an amazing Cowgirl in the Sand.

Hope everyone that went on here had as great of a time as I did!

I'm guessing it was a curfew issue...
    They played right up to11pm!!!
It was still a REALLY good show,
but was kind of surprised to only get "Cinnamon Girl" as the encore!!
There was also some severe weather moving in...
we had just gotten back to the car and before we could leave the parking lot...
    it started raining!! :rock_on:

I want to say Neil's acoustic set started around 8:45
There was a guest speaker on stage while they changed out the stage...
PLUS two other brief "performance pieces" during the break between bands!!

Wow. Where to begin with last night...Band of Horses opened a hell of a show with a solid,m45ish minute set. They were so tight and were really giving it their all on their final night on tour, even though the venue was only about 25% full for their first 3 songs. But Neil, for my first NY show, blew my mind. 3hr and 15min, played until just about midnight, and barely took a drink of water all night. He killed it, and Promise of the Real brought some energy that clearly brought the best out of Neil. His new songs had an added punch live, and they were just unreal all night. Neil is a legend, and seeing it front row in the pit solidified this in my mind. Go see this tour , you won't regret it.

Dan DeLuca wrote a pretty spot on review of the Philly show. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/inthemix/Review-Neil-Young--the-Promise-of-the-Real-at-the-Susquehanna-Bank-Center.html

A pretty spectacular show but I have to admit that the version of “Hold Back The Tears” had me a little concerned...

Two thumbs up. A great song off the highly under-appreciated "Time Fades Away" LP.

SO excited he's added Vancouver!!!!! I've never seen him before. :) Disappointed about the venue though. The Queen Elizabeth Theatre has terrible sound. :frowning: But I can't miss it; I may never get another chance.

SO excited he's added Vancouver!!!!! I've never seen him before. :) Disappointed about the venue though. The Queen Elizabeth Theatre has terrible sound. :frowning: But I can't miss it; I may never get another chance.

Knowing Neil... it will probably be so loud that acoustics won't matter.
congrats on getting a show date.

    Thanks! :)
This venue is actually worse the louder it is. The vocals completely disappear with the loud shows. It's actually still okay for quieter shows, like solo performances and stuff. Anyway, fingers crossed. Also knowing Neil, he might actually do something about the bad sound before the show, unlike the other artists I've seen there.
