what did everyone pay for VIP2? Mine were $200 each.
$175 each.
(edited it because i put 150...oops)
I got them at $150 each, at about 10:08am.

a fight between beyonce and pearl jam lol. but they are first listed and the announcement does say headliner so. i kinda want PJ to go before beyonce so i don't have to see her..
I just don't get this... when I saw The Who back in the day, I saw people leaving after The Clash... how does one not stay to check out The Who? Granted, Beyonce is no Who, but you paid the freight... why not have an open mind and check out a legend? I was at the GCF 2 years ago to catch Stevie, and I was impressed by Alicia Keys, Mayer and KOL, all of whom I never would have gone to see otherwise.
Agreed, Beyonce might put on the best show of the night. After PJ of course. I dont listen to her but i saw some of her HBO special and she definitley knows how to put on a show. Jay-Z headlined the festival last year and Beyonce joined him for a couple of songs; I would expect the same (reverse) this year. I would put my money on her going last. I'm intrigued. She's also beautiful, so it's not hard on the eyes either.

Sorry, no, I got VIP 3.

does VIP 2 or 3 at least have the option to buy alcohol? and about how many people per VIP section?
It better
I'm sure they do. VIP1 had an open-bar included so im sure VIP 2 and 3 will have access to alcohol. The website's fine print also mentioned having to be 21 or over to purchase alcohol at the event.

No alcohol except for 1. Details are on the VIP details page.
It doesn't say no alcohol. It says open bar on vip1. People are wondering if there will be vendors selling alcohol in vip2 and vip3. The details page doesn't mention what will and won't be for sale. It just mentioned what you get included in your package.
i imagine it goes coldplay > sheeran > a fight between beyonce and pearl jam lol. but they are first listed and the announcement does say headliner so. i kinda want PJ to go before beyonce so i don't have to see her...
I think people are basing their assumptions on previous years where the only place you could purchase alcohol was the top tier VIP area.
is this true? no alcohol was sold at all for the rest of the concert goers? That's hard to believe for a 7 hour show like this.

yeah wow, past reviews say there was no alcohol. That really sucks and I guess its the byproduct of everyone being "penned" in for hours before the show and during, with no real easy egress, especially with everything first come first serve within the respective sections.

I just checked stub hub to see what the market looks like, and there is a notice that says "stubhub will not be selling tickets to this event" Very cool!

Edit: See the VIP tickets on StubHub now. The FAQs on the Global Citizen website says they'll cancel all tickets they see being sold on the secondary market. Maybe that only pertains to the free ones?
I refuse to give money to lil Irving Azoff and his ticketbastard monopoly unless absolutely necessary. I wonder if he is giving up any of his "fees" for the Global Initiative? not in this lifetime son.

Just got tickets vip3, flying in from Texas. After reading this, is this a reality that no alcohol will be served??? 6 hours of talking and sub par music waiting on pj to play - dead sober? I was so excited all day, now I feel as if I have been ripped off!

I dont think this will be the case, but I didn't go last year so I guess we will see.
Have fun everyone who scored tickets!! I had two VIP2s on my phone, clicked to buy them and at that exact moment my wife called my phone. Verizon doesn't let you do voice and data at the same time so I lost the tickets and couldn't get them after that... I am now slowly progressing through the 5 stages of PJ ticket buying grief. Currently in "Bargaining" phase so if anyone can't make it please let me know and I'll happily pay face + for two tix. Can't justify paying $500 per on stubhub...
"All four will perform during the "free" Global Citizen Festival set to be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, in New York City's Central Park -- a six-hour event that will be aired live on MSNBC and its website for the second consecutive year. The concert is expected to draw 60,000 people to the site."
Scored 2 in VIP2 for $175 w/ my 10c code right out the gate. I'm feeling pretty fortunate since my work computer had been wonky lately - that & the fact that others had issues w/ their codes etc has me feeling pretty lucky.
Congrats to those that scored - good luck to those who didn't & are going after the freebies!
Interestingly it looks like the scalpers are able to sell these tickets, which kind of stinks.
Stubhub originally said on their site they weren't selling tickets to the event. GC website said they had an agreement with the resellers to prevent resale. If I recall they made it seem as that was the case for ALL GCF tix. I think they now edited the FAQ and added the word "free" when discussing ticket re selling:
If you try to sell the free tickets, we will cancel them - we have standing arrangements with secondary market providers including StubHub, eBay and Craigslist.com.
I wonder what changed? Is it some kind of legal precedent in New York State that says if any event is sold on ticketmaster, it can indeed be resold in the secondary market? I'm just guessing, but stubhub originally said they won't resell GCF tix and now are more than happy to do it for 500$ and up a pop.
I have 2 vip3 tickets that I need to sell because I won't be able to get off work. I paid $175 each and I'm just looking to get my money back, and would like them to go to a Pearl Jam fan

Will certainly pay face, probably little over if necessary.
Thanks all...
