I believe all the picks are after the lottery is chosen. The Bosh and Durant injuries derailed these picks.

    from my link above:

"The Heat currently have the league’s tenth-worst record, which is just on the right side of the line of demarcation as far as they’re concerned. If Miami finishes in that spot, the only way that they lose the pick is if one of the 11-12-13-14 group vaults all the way into the Top-3 (91 percent chance of keeping it). Slide back to 11, though, and then the onus is on them to jump into the Top-3 to keep the pick (2.9 percent).

That is why it’s so important for both the Heat and Sixers to lose tonight’s game. If Miami falls, they’ll guarantee themselves the tenth-worst record and relegate the Sixers to Lloyd Christmas “So, you’re telling me there’s a chance” territory."

pretty brutal that the chances of these 3 protected first rounders vesting this year are slim to none. draft night is still gonna be awesome...The Hinkie Show

So they lose out on the miami pick by a game...and they lose out on the okc pick by a game. Talk about being unlucky.

    5/19

I don't see Silver doing the sixers any favors. I think we are gonna have to wait another year for all of those picks to vest (unless the hinkster trades them).

Oh well, the future is still bright!

    By Derek Bodner | April 15, 2015 - 11:54 pm | 2015 Draft Pick Tracker
    Overview:
    Sixers Draft Pick Tracker
    Pick
    Currently
    Protection
    Chance to get
    Sixers 3rd n/a Guaranteed
Lakers 4th Top 5 17.2% chance the Sixers get it.
Heat 10th Top 10 9.1% chance the Sixers get it
Thunder 14th Top 18 Pick will not convey
(A + next to a team name means I'm hoping they win, a - next to a team means I'm hoping that they lose)
(last updated March April 15th, 2015)
Results that impacted the Sixers picks:

    Sixers lost to Miami (good)
    Brooklyn beat Orlando (bad)
    Knicks lost to Detroit (bad)
    Sixers pick:
The Sixers lost to the Heat, but it didn’t matter. With the Knicks loss to Detroit, the Sixers were locked into the third worst record. They will have 156 lottery balls in May’s lottery, giving them a 15.6% chance at the top pick, a 46.9% chance at a top-3 pick, a 96% at a top-5 pick, and a guarantee of a top-6 pick.

    Lakers pick:
The Lakers finished with the 4th worst record. The Sixers will need 2 of the 5-14 in the lottery to jump in the top-3, pushing Los Angeles down to the 6th pick. There is a 17.2% chance of that happening.

If the Sixers do not get the Lakers pick this season, the pick will be top-3 protected in 2016, top-3 protected again in 2017, and fully unprotected in 2018.

    Miami pick:

Miami beat the Sixers, but with Brooklyn’s win over Orlando, it didn’t matter. Miami will finish alone with the 10th worst record. In order to get Miami’s draft pick, the Sixers will need a team in 11-14 in the lottery to jump into the top-3. There is a 9.1% chance of that happening.

If the Sixers do not get Miami’s pick this year, the pick will once again be top-10 protected in next year’s 2016 draft. If the pick still isn’t conveyed, the pick will be fully unprotected in 2017.

    Oklahoma City pick:
Oklahoma City finished the season out of the playoffs in the Western Conference, putting them at 14th in the lottery. The Sixers will not get Oklahoma City’s pick this year.

The protection on the pick lessens next season. The pick is only top-15 protected in the 2016 draft. It would then be top-15 protected again in 2017. If the pick is still not conveyed, it would turn into a 2nd round pick in 2017 and a 2nd round pick in 2018.
    Alright, alright, alright!

great summary, thanks. Bodner seems to be the only person alive capable of effectively tracking and reporting this stuff. The writers in the Inquirer and DN are pathetic (except for david murphy)...esp the ones covering the sixers. I hardly even read the philly papers anymore...it's kind of sad

I love Russell and hope they can end up with him. I think he is most likely the best player in the draft. At the very least I think he ends up being a high volume NBA scorer. Have never seen Mudiay so can't really say much about him. If they end up having to take Okafor or Towns then clearly other moves would have to come.

hey no worries when you are wrong you can always use the excuse 'things changed' like you did when you were so wrong about the Flyers. i don't think we ever got an excuse for when you said no one would take Aaron Gordon in the top 10 last year...and he went 4th. can't wait to hear your draft predictions this year.
