    side note: really not a fan of 4/20 rallies anymore. Not sure if I've just outgrown them or what, but it seems so....cliché, I guess, now that it's becoming more acceptable. People use it as a way to point fingers at the stereotypes. Not that I really give a fuck, but I haven't been to one in years and don't really miss it.
    edit: actually....reading more about this particular rally...I'd be down. I'd go if there were actual vendors and not just drum and hackey sack circles, and the juicy fruit guitar guy.

    So vaping gets rid of bacteria...whaddaya know! I had no idea.

    Oh, definitely not heat stroke, lol. We were only there for maybe 45 minutes before this happened, and it wasn't very hot at all IMO. Couldn't have been more than 21 degrees. Plus I was wearing sunscreen. Plus I know the difference well. That was a crazy drug reaction! I really can't explain how fucked up it is to not have any sensation at all in your face but still be told that it's moving. I felt like the signals from my rain were being cut off before they reached my face. But apparently I was still talking and shit. Couldn't even feel my mouth moving when I touched it with my hand. It was horrible, lol. Just from one hit! Unbelievable.

    I can totally see people getting sick from the edibles there though. I don't think it would generally be from bad ingredients. I think it would be from the fact that most of the edibles being sold there were medical grade as well as discounted and amlunts in each item pumped up for the occasion. I would bet that nearly all of those 64 people simply ate way more than they could handle without even realizing it.

    But i also think that some people who were spending the day out there and forgot about sunscreen would be screwed. Could have definitely been dangerous if they weren't prepared for that much sun.

    I don't go for the rally or entertainment. The only reason I go is to go shopping for weed in a farmers market atmosphere. I don't like the shady drug deal thing at all, so I go there each year just to buy a bunch that will last a long time, and feel comfortable buying it. That's how it should always be.

    I find the "cannabis culture" thing weird. Like, the cannabis clothing and shit, lol, and oddly elaborate smoking methods just for the fun of it. I don't get it. But it seems to be a hobby or a passion or something for some people.

    Oh, I know and not talking about those who truly haven't - but the never statement strikes me as false. Can't SAY it's so, but I don't buy it.

    I asked my parents if they smoked (they would have been in their teens in the late 60's). My dad said he did once, but didn't like it, but my mom never did. I always assumed that everyone that age in that era did! LOL :mrgreen:

    My dad's never touched it, and my mom only tried it once and said she didn't get high at all so never bothered to try again. Some asshole gave my mom shake I guess. :lol:

    I wish I'd thought to ask my dad, as he was much more open-minded than my mom is and less likely to dismiss something without doing his due diligence.

    That said, my 80-something mom has smoked "the pot", as she calls it, a handful of times - most recently a few years ago after shoulder replacement surgery.

    She swears by pills for pain :angry:

    this all came up when my sister got back from backpacking across Australia for 6 months in the early 90's. she told my parents at one dinner that she had tried it (thinking they'd admire her honesty), my parents flipped out, and she blurted out "well Paul does it all the time!". Thanks sis, thanks.

    I used to "borrow" weed from my mom when I was growing up.I would pinch a nug here,a baby bud there,never a lot.I knew her hiding place in the pocket of my Gradfathers military Uniform.
    One day went in for a little dip in the weed box(It was a Tupperware).Opened it up and there was nothing but 5 rolled joints and a note that said"I saved you the fucking trouble"love Mom.

    Well,needless to say I never touched her shit again.But that was about the time I was starting to earn enough cash for my own goodies.

    Both my parents, and All their siblings and friends on both sides all smoked pot.I remember.None were slackers ,all were very successful in professional life(Some very,very successful) and I'm pretty sure my dad smoked until his death a few years back.Moms dosent anymore.

    I don't come right out and say that I smoke to my parents, but I'm sure they know. I make comments. I post stuff about this very topic on facebook all the time, which my entire family sees. I also argue it in person if it comes up at a gathering. I just can't understand how they can still believe that alcohol is still better and weed is "for losers", just because our stupid conservative government tells them so. especially with my sister's marriage breaking up because of severe alcohol addiction. ever hear of a divorce caused by smoking too much weed? I haven't.

    Way to encourage openness and actual education.

    Just did a quick search and MM isn't legal in Kansas - has failed legislation twice from what I read.
