Oh so that's what you were referring to by saying Purple Willie, I had no idea. I thought you were talking about a woman's big joy making stick.

Legalization is cutting into the Cartels' profits and it seems like the DEA isn't liking it. Maybe the DEA just doesn't like it because they want job security, but their cozy relationship with Sinaloa is suspicion inducing for sure.

We caught some of it yesterday (I think it was 3; there's been a series) and I believe it's on again this evening. I hope it educates a lot of people who may have preconceptions about it.

I will always say alcohol, for all the reasons already mentioned in this thread.
That said, I had my first bad weed experience yesterday. Okay, I did smoke one hit of strange stuff that was supposed to be THC butter - $2 a hit (called a "dab") - and while my friend seemed okay, I was absolutely fucked up. I felt like I'd dropped acid but worse. It was horrifying, lol. I actually wondered if I was having a stroke for a while - my whole face lost all feeling. :( So I can't say that that particular toke was safer than alcohol, hahaha. That was some crazy shit that I wasn't prepared for. I've been doing weed for 26 years, and I have NEVER had anything like that. I thought I might have to visit the first aid tent. I have never thought about visiting a first aid tent while drinking! All that said, alcohol is still way more dangerous that weed, for your health and for society. And THAT said, prohibition doesn't work. Period.

I'm sure it wasn't actually butter, but rather "budder".

I'm pretty much a daily bud smoker (evenings after work), but I don't mess with concentrates. I can't hang!

Lol, yes, budder, thank you. ;)
I smoke it once in a while (even bought some along with a vapo pen at the weed market yesterday), and yes, it gets you fucking high as hell on a normal day, but that stuff I smoked yesterday was outrageous. Kind of made me wonder if there wasn't something else in it. Maybe I got pot-roofied.

Pot-roofied! :open_mouth: Yeah, I've done dabs, but it isn't for me. My wife smokes more weed than Cheech AND Chong combined and she has had a couple of panic moments with concentrates. Once she even told me that she was going to do a dab and to not let her call 911. She was kidding, but she knows that the panic or paranoia might hit her initially. Usually lasts only a few minutes, and then she just enjoys being super-ripped. But she will only rarely dab. Like I said, that isn't for me. I just like a little relaxing buzz, or occasionally to really get baked, and the bud does that just fine.

Well I'm not writing the budder off just because of one bad experience, but that is probably the last time I let total strangers at the 420 event prepare a hit for me.

Gotta be careful! Years ago someone laced a joint with PCP, unbeknownst to my sister.

So...I guess that old commercial saying "a dab'll do ya" is still accurate

Sure it wasn't heat stroke, PJ_S? That seems to be the consensus in the fb comments on this story:
    http://bc.ctvnews.ca/vancouver-hospital-flooded-by-4-20-marijuana-revelers-64-treated-1.2336761
Some are thinking there was bacteria in the edibles...but you said it was vaped, so....
crazy either way. Looks like jeffbr could have saved your healthcare system a few grand in treating panic attacks with gravol
side note: really not a fan of 4/20 rallies anymore. Not sure if I've just outgrown them or what, but it seems so....cliché, I guess, now that it's becoming more acceptable. People use it as a way to point fingers at the stereotypes. Not that I really give a fuck, but I haven't been to one in years and don't really miss it.
edit: actually....reading more about this particular rally...I'd be down. I'd go if there were actual vendors and not just drum and hackey sack circles, and the juicy fruit guitar guy.

Oh, definitely not heat stroke, lol. We were only there for maybe 45 minutes before this happened, and it wasn't very hot at all IMO. Couldn't have been more than 21 degrees. Plus I was wearing sunscreen. Plus I know the difference well. That was a crazy drug reaction! I really can't explain how fucked up it is to not have any sensation at all in your face but still be told that it's moving. I felt like the signals from my rain were being cut off before they reached my face. But apparently I was still talking and shit. Couldn't even feel my mouth moving when I touched it with my hand. It was horrible, lol. Just from one hit! Unbelievable.

I can totally see people getting sick from the edibles there though. I don't think it would generally be from bad ingredients. I think it would be from the fact that most of the edibles being sold there were medical grade as well as discounted and amlunts in each item pumped up for the occasion. I would bet that nearly all of those 64 people simply ate way more than they could handle without even realizing it.

But i also think that some people who were spending the day out there and forgot about sunscreen would be screwed. Could have definitely been dangerous if they weren't prepared for that much sun.

I don't go for the rally or entertainment. The only reason I go is to go shopping for weed in a farmers market atmosphere. I don't like the shady drug deal thing at all, so I go there each year just to buy a bunch that will last a long time, and feel comfortable buying it. That's how it should always be.

I find the "cannabis culture" thing weird. Like, the cannabis clothing and shit, lol, and oddly elaborate smoking methods just for the fun of it. I don't get it. But it seems to be a hobby or a passion or something for some people.

Not sure how much truth there is to this, but I read something this morning where Hillary said she's never smoked pot.

Really? Just find it hard to believe, given the era in which she came up.

(plus the husband's "didn't inhale" nonsense)

    It's ok to admit it.

Believe it or not, great swaths of the population of the US (and Canada) have never smoked pot.

Oh, I know and not talking about those who truly haven't - but the never statement strikes me as false. Can't SAY it's so, but I don't buy it.

And for what it's worth (lest party affiliation enter into this as it has in other threads!), I also call bullshit on Christie's similar claim.

I asked my parents if they smoked (they would have been in their teens in the late 60's). My dad said he did once, but didn't like it, but my mom never did. I always assumed that everyone that age in that era did! LOL
