I was able to pick up Social Distortion - Social Distortion (Blue vinyl) Cold War Kids - Five Quick Cuts some other album that one of my kids wanted/put into my hands, can't remember what and didn't see anything on the list that looked like it might have been it
i fully suport RSD... but most of it is junk and gimmicks that i cant understand why people buy... much like the citizen dick 7"... are people really going to spin that? lol
Add Mark Kozelek to my haul today. Completed my ISO list for this RSD

I asked this question months ago. Haha! Total collectors deal.

I completely disagree. While there are gimmicks like picture discs, etc this RSD gave fans the opportunity to buy some great albums (Get Behind Me Satan, Phish's first live album vinyl release, The Boss, etc).

Post RSD purchases. I was busy helping my husband at his park program.
Sunday: Citizen Dick (and YES, I did spin it) The 2011 RSD Pearl Jam release (Immortality and RVM- The Frogs) Monday: Slayer (my husband was on the hunt)
No mystery vinyl, but I'm quite okay with living vicariously. I know enough people who purchased one, so I'll happily cheer them on and be happy for their good fortune.

I landed the mystery vinyl and REM/Syd Barrett seven inch from somebody on here. Only things I really wanted. Kind of glad there wasn't a ton I wanted otherwise I wouldn't have sat at home in my cpu.
The Doors - Strange Days Mono Frank Sinatra - Songs For Young Lovers 10" both sound fantastic for the pj mystery vinyl i was one who got my credit card charged for a couple days, then refunded. :( all in all, a fun record store day weekend.

I am not much for RSD. One because I agree with those who have the opinion that it is mainly a gimmick and two any day should be RSD. The place I frequent doesn't get any of the merchandise on RSD. I love my local place. The owner and I have become friends over the years and he's responsible for 3/4 of my record collection. With that said I do take a peak at the list and sometimes will get something. The Polaris album was a must!
Glad those who went out had a good time. I like to read what others are getting.

RSD may be gimmicky, but it is probably serving its intended purpose, and getting people to the stores. I agree with you that any day should be RSD.
Anyway, here are some interesting stats I just read: "According to BuzzAngle Music, Record Store Day 2015 was a massive success. The data collecting company states that independent record stores experienced a 24.3% increase in album sales, and a 97.2% upswing in single sales, compared to Record Store Day 2014. Overall vinyl sales on Record Store Day was a whopping 1,500% higher than vinyl sales on the previous Saturday (April 11.)" http://www.riffyou.com/these-are-the-top-25-selling-record-store-day-albums/
Not bad for those indie shops! I love a few local record shops, and visit them regularly, but I also love the spectacle of RSD, and look forward to it the way kids look forward to Christmas.

I have to say that that's pretty impressive. To be honest I would probably be more into RSD if the closest place that participated wasn't 60+ miles away. I just can't bring myself to get up mega early just to drive out to hope and see if the place has anything I would like. I will just stick with where I go.
