EV original handwritten setlists from the 1993 tour

Come on guys, this seems to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for most of us and now it is more or less ruined because of hairsplitting. In my opinion this is BS and not that Paul organizes a great auction at PJC. Again, thanks Paul and keep it up, please!

Too bad this ended this way.

Anyone thinking that they were going to score one of these for $100 is out of their damn mind. A really quick search of the sale prices of hand written setlists at auction ( not ebay but actual auction houses) will tell you otherwise.

A Nirvana setlist recently sold for just shy of $10K. The kicker, it was written by Grohl.

An early U2 setlist just went for close to $6K.

An Oasis setlist that was a computer printout with some scribbling by Noel Gallagher went for $1,200.

I'm guessing most of these would go for $1,500 - 3,500 a pop at auction.

Maybe we'll get some more traffic on PJcollectors!

I don't think anyone thought they'd get a 20 year set list hand written by ed for $100. I'm pretty sure the problem is (and again absolutely no disrespect to Paul) the seller gauged interest. It was there. Then a thread was started to see who was interested in what setlist. It was passed around and people were genuinely excited and posted what they were interested in. Everyone then waited for an asking price. When a silent auction was put out it was evident the seller wanted top dollar; and again I am not ridiculing the seller but the notion was passed by the middleman that he wanted to make sure the set list was going to the right home and that this was actually "proven" by a 7 day auction probably pissed a lot of people off.
As we move forward I really hope Paul doesn't get too mad and not present these awesome memorabilia in the future and I wish everyone with deep pockets good luck in securing their set lists.
As of today I will be saving up for a hand written set list from my first pj show, randall's island night two.

I have to answer this, way too many assumptions. I started the thread too early out of excitement ... I was waiting on pricing but it was me who jumped the gun. The seller wasn't fishing.

I think he was well aware of what he had, without having to come here to gauge interest. That's a ridiculous suggestion.

I'm big enough to hold my hand up. The seller is a good guy, a real nice dude, and his intentions are genuine and I can't have his motives questioned without putting the facts straight.

It's too bad the thought that he would want people here to be prioritized in getting these is so hard to understand as a concept. I now believe he should have gone to ebay and cleaned up. You know what? it was me that suggested this place as the ideal place to make his aims possible

I then suggested Pjc .. But certain folk who need to find something else in their lives decided to cause trouble there too.

but like I said, I think people got mad when it went to a seven day auction. My opinion will always be, you don't gauge a fan by how much money they have.

Dude I totally read what you wrote and like I said I have zero problem with the way he is selling the set lists and applaud you going to pjcollectors.com as opposed to ebay. I find his reasoning to find a good home for these set lists a bit........deceptive? deceitful? I can't really put my finger on it.

Probably would be helpful for managing people's expectations on future offerings and to help establish a going rate for items of this quality.

For what its worth... both Mike and Paul seem like first rate people. I doubt either intended to offend the other.

Thanks for the kind words! I m sure if Paul and I sat down and had a beer together we d probably see each other s point in 30 seconds when talking face to face as opposed to a message board.
