Love this thread. Skipping some more obvious great shows and listing some personal favs. In no particular order....
1. 1996.09.26 - Augusta. Great show, topped off with I'm a Patriot.
2. 1996.10.19 - Bridge School. Beautiful and brilliant.
3. 1996.11.04 - Hamburg. Everyone talks about Berlin the night before. Give this one a listen.
4. 2000.06.22 - Milan. Great version of Garden. Solid show all around.
5. 2000.10.25 - San Diego. This show rivals the best of them.
6. 2003.10.28 - Santa Barbara (attendee bias). First PJ show and all time fav. A phenomenal show. First Temple of the Dog reunion! Really needs to be a vault release someday.
7. 2006.05.19 - Grand Rapids. Great setlist, vibe and performance. A stand-out boot.
8. 2006.09.19 - Torino. Flawless performance of Avocado straight through. (Any Italy show from '06 is quality).
9. 2008.06.16 - Cloumbia. Everything about this boot is great. And the best version of the revamped W.M.A. of the tour.
10. 2014.11.23 - Los Angeles (attendee bias). Just give it a listen. I dare you to say it is not a great boot. Solid set list. Almost all of Ten, a brilliant Garden, with All or None and ending with Indifference. Great energy all around.
I fully expect the fall 2014 boots to shakeup my list (Moline and Milwaukee!).Post edited by JF110284 on2003 - Santa Barbara

Surprised that no one has mentioned East Troy, Alpine Valley '03 yet. One of the most underrated PJ shows of all time."In certain trying circumstances...profanity furnishes a relief denied even to prayer." - Mark Twain0

I hope this isn't a dumb question, (it might just be one though lol), but how do you hear all these shows that have not been officially released? Is there some website that has all the shows available to listen to or to purchase?0

Love this question.
1. Nashville 2000- The setlist flows so well. That's not to say its full of rarities, but when I think of a set creating a mood and flow this one always comes to mind. Ed's voice was incredible that night. While they may or may not have been too thrilled to be in TN, they have fun with the crowd. Great version of Daughter.
Can't agree more. Best DTE ever! EV's voice was amazing and growly and ferocious.
2000 Tampa.... You will NOT find a better GARDEN or DAUGHTER. Tremor Christ is amazing on this show too. The notes held at the end of Garden will blow your mind. Check this out! EV has never held "Need to live" longer. As for Daughter, the tag of The Wall is good but its the steps up of "ahhh ahhh " higher and higher and higher that are incredible.
I love Oslo this year, Worcester 1, Charlotte, LA 1 and 2, vancouver this year. 2003: Mansfield, camden, Buffalo, State college and the japan showsWest Palm Beach 1998 (2nights) 2000 (2 nights) ,2003,2008 Tampa 2000 Atlanta 1994, 2000, 2012 Philly 20120 -
Gave this one some good thought...
10. Shepherd's Bush, London 2009 - Thank goodness this show took place a year before I got into Pearl Jam, otherwise I would have never forgiven myself for missing it. This is a rock solid setlist highlighted by the early performance with Ronnie Wood and an amazing version of Soldier of Love. One of the best bootlegs to hear Matt on as well.
9. Lollapalooza, Buenes Aires 2013 - There are few recordings that can truly convey the magic of a Pearl Jam experience like the incredible performance of Release to open this show up. Hearing the crowd drown out Eddie still gives me goosebumps, and I laugh every time he finds himself unable to get a word in between songs due to chanting.
8. Hyde Park, London 2010 - This is the day I'll never forget, the day I wandered down to Hyde Park to hang around in the sun for a day after hearing that Wolfmother, the band I had come to see, pulled out of Hard Rock Calling. Still, I had heard these Pearl Jam guys were meant to be quiet good... The show blew my mind, and I feel a sense of pride as Eddie thanks the crowd. But past nostalgia, this has the definitive recordings of Go and Black. The former is a blistering heat-of-the-moment whirlwind that packs an incredible punch with the open-air speakers. The latter is an incredible fusing of crowd and band as Eddie plays off the roaring chants, many of which spin off on their own tangents, while Mike delivers one of his solos. My favourite Alive too.
7. Madison Square Gardens, New York Night 1 2010 - Just listening to the first few seconds of this bootleg can tell you that there was something special in the air this night. Just thinking about watching the band take to the stage to open with Sometimes gives me the chills, and then they never slow it down, delivering knock out performances for two and a half hours. And just when you think its time to give it a rest...
6. Madison Square Gardens, New York Night 2 2010 - ...the flow carries right on into the second night, which has one of the best string of opening three songs with Corduroy, Hail, Hail and Do the Evolution. You can feel the band getting excited about playing each song as they start and after this show moves into its final half it delivers stunning versions of Lukin, The Real Me, Hunger Strike and, one of my all time favourites, Black, Red Yellow.
5. Reading Festival, Reading 2006 - I've been to Reading festival many times, but sadly not this year. After such a long time away, Pearl Jam came back in the best way possible with this incredible headline performance. To hear Eddie's humble speech at the start before kicking into the first run of Corduroy, Do the Evolution and Animal will have easily convinced those that hadn't heard of the band before that they were something special. It says something about a band that's brave enough to pull off its first huge set then come back on with a ukele for the first song of the encore. My favourite version of Why Go is here.
4. MEN Arena, Manchester Night 2 2012 - The 2012 Manchester shows were my first as an educated Pearl Jam fan and while Night 1 was fun, the second blew it out of the water in a matter of moments. Go, Animal, Hail Hail, I Am Mine, Wishlist, Even Flow, Lukin, Not For You, Down in that order from the start... it was like the band had dived inside my mind and found out how to pull off the exact setlist that would blow me away. And then it did it again in the first encore with Inside Job and Off He Goes. Top it all off with Sonic Reducer? I was left breathless from this fast, energetic show.
3. National Bowl, Milton Keynes 2014 - There's no doubt in my mind that Leeds was the better of PJ's two UK shows this year. In fact, Leed's is the only show I'd give consideration to dethroning that day that changed my life in Hyde Park. But when it comes down to which bootleg to listen to... Pendulum, Wash, Nothingman, Black, Go, BRAIN OF J (!!!!!), Comatose, Save You, Hail, Hail, Mind Your Manners and Do The Evolution in that order? That is PERFECT. I couldn't not have put pen to paper to create a better setlist. This is a bootleg that feels great to play in sections from that calm opener, thunderous string of Go - Evolution, small break before Sirens - RVM and then perhaps my favourite ever first encore with Footsteps, Chole Dancer, Crown of Thorns, a snippet of Believe You Me that I can't. Stop. Playing, Betterman, Lukin, Porch. And you're going to throw in Blood before the night's over? Yeah, that's a setlist worthy of the show's mammoth length and venue size.
2. Vic Theatre, Chicago 2007 - While I prefer Pearl Jam's faster songs most of the time, Vic Theatre boasts the definitive versions of some of their slower epics. All Or None, one of my all time favourites, is played to perfection as is Hard to Imagine, Eddie's cries towards the end of which are some of my favourite work from him. Those two songs put this list here all on its own but Undone, Sonic Reducer, Who Go, Off He Goes and Ben Harper's help on Indifference make it all the better.
1. Spectrum, Philadelphia Night 3 2009 - "Everybody ready? Are we ready? Alright..." Gonna See My Friend (great performance, so underplayed), The Fixer (one of the best performances), In My Tree (creatiny giddy excitement), a great Given to Fly, Tremor Christ, an INCREDIBLE rendition of Untitled/MFC, a version of Hold On that's on constant rotation for me, the best In Hiding, Deep, HABIT, Cropduster, a beautiful Off He Goes, an uplifting Force of Nature, a haunting Present Tense, one of the few performances of Got Some I actually like, a thunderous Do The Evolution. Break. Just Breathe, the emotional peak of Parting Ways with a note from Eddie that I will forever try and replicate, Jeremy, the very best version of Breath that has been recorded, another emotional highpoint in Light Years, RVM. Break. WHIPPING. CRAZY MARY. FOOTSTEPS (!). ONCE. ALIVE. SONIC REDUCER (!!). THE VERY BEST BABA. "Thank you Philadelphia."
Who even needed the fourth night?
"Hey Eddie, great show-- fuck you!"
