I clearly am not as knowledgeable about boots as everyone else here. I only have a list based on the shows I've gone to, vaults, free downloads, and the pre-2000 bootlegs I paid $50 for before I was able to start going to shows. I reckon I need to start listening to more of these shows that keep popping up on people's lists. Thank god for you fuckers.

This fucker suggests you start with the Gorge 2005 show, A full report expected by Friday.

Yessir, or yinzer, as it were. My first reaction was, "oh, so that's why they released it like Benaroya." Loved the beginning, both the opener as well as the whole beginning set, even Ed's flubs (such as the comments during "Better Man"). Probably the best "Love Boat Captain" I've listened to. Great energy throughout, love hearing the crowd getting into it. Some great cuts (didn't know this was the first appearance of "Undone"). I mean, I could go on, but really just stating things you already know, right? All I can say is "thanks, fucker!" with the utmost respect and gratitude. I need to go get this boot now.

These are my picks from 2000 on (since I don't have enough pre 2000 shows to consider). It's so hard to narrow it down so I just listed shows I listen to the most and then added an asterisk to my top 10 of those:
2000: Cardiff, UK 2000: Katowice, Poland (show 2)* 2000: Seattle, WA (show 2)* 2003: Osaka, Japan 2003: Buffalo, NY 2003: Bonner Springs, KS* 2003: New York, NY (show 1)* 2005: George, WA* 2006: Grand Rapids, MI* 2006: San Diego, CA* 2006: Marseille, France 2006: Verona, Italy* 2006: Zagreb, Croatia 2009: Philadelphia, PA (show 3)* 2010: Boston, MA 2010: New York, NY (show 2)*... Let's say knowledge is a tree, yeah.
It's growing up just like me.
No particular order, numbered for me to keep track: 1. Va Beach '00: first show, and a significant one in the band's history 2. PGH '00: I was rather wasted for this show (just started college) so the bootleg is helpful, but so many classic moments to this show 3. Manifesting Morrison (Indio, CA 11/5/93): one of the first bootlegs I bought, and some awesome moments here. 4. PGH '06: lots of energy from the crowd, which the band played off of; wife's first show 5. Cleveland '10: I thought it was a great show during, now I think it's awesome 6. Benaroya Hall: no need to explain 7. Charlottesville '13: first time in GA, on the rail, amazing show, still can't believe I experienced it 8. Columbus '03: generally don't like the sound of the shows in 2003, maybe b/c Ed seems off, but this show was funny and fun. 9. Vault #3 (DC '98): sounds great, sweet setlist, might not be the full show but is still a great listen 10. Radio Free Germany (Berlin '96): another early $50 boot I bought back in the day, didn't start going to shows until 2000 but starting getting these in 1998 (?), so this was the closest I got to the real thing; spun this CD more than Manifesting Morrison, dug the short "Hunger Strike" and "Leaving Here"
Virginia Beach 2000; Pittsburgh 2000; Columbus 2003; D.C. 2003; Pittsburgh 2006; Virginia Beach 2008; Cleveland 2010; PJ20 2011; Pittsburgh 2013; Baltimore 2013; Charlottesville 2013; Charlotte 2013; Lincoln 2014; Moline 2014; St. Paul 2014; Greenville 2016; Hampton 2016; Lexington 2016; Wrigley 2016; Prague 2018; Krakow 2018; Berlin 2018; Fenway 2018; Camden 2022; St. Paul 2023; MSG 1 2024; Baltimore 2024
After much thought and more listening, I feel comfortable with a current list. I've probably heard 300+ shows and I'm always listening and discovering great shows by checking in on this forum. anyway, my top 10:
1. 3/17/95 - Irons at his absolute apex in my opinion. Great, great version of Black. 2. 4/3/94 - everyone knows about this show, a tour de force from beginning to end. 3. 3/5/98 - Melbourne again. 4. 7/11/95 - while I enjoy the present catalogue in a live setting, I'm partial to the sound and fury of the older boots. 5. 6/16/00 - warm, rich sounding. Love kicking back with this boot. 6. 9/5/00 - the only one in my top 10 I actually attended. the recording lived up to the actual experience. 7. 9/19/98 - great performance, great tour in support of Yield. 8. 9/1/05 - acoustic set alone puts this one in top 10. 9. 7/11/03 - same as above 10. 4/12/94 - Dave A owns this own. just owns it.
Pre 2000: Soldier Field, 95, Vault 3 2000: Boise, Nurnberg 2003: St. Louis, Champagne 2005: Buenos Aires 1-2 2006: Marseille, Bern 2008: Bonnaroo 2009: London O2 2010: MSG 1-2, Boston 2011: Buenos Aires 2012: Berlin 2 2013: Philadelphia 2, Vancouver 2014: Trieste - Vienna - Berlin (Best 3 consecutive PJ show ever)
What's your part, who you are?
2012: Arras, Berlin 1-2
2013: Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires
2014: Milano, Trieste, Vienna, Berlin
2016: NY MSG 1

Love this thread. Skipping some more obvious great shows and listing some personal favs. In no particular order....
1. 1996.09.26 - Augusta. Great show, topped off with I'm a Patriot. 2. 1996.10.19 - Bridge School. Beautiful and brilliant. 3. 1996.11.04 - Hamburg. Everyone talks about Berlin the night before. Give this one a listen. 4. 2000.06.22 - Milan. Great version of Garden. Solid show all around. 5. 2000.10.25 - San Diego. This show rivals the best of them. 6. 2003.10.28 - Santa Barbara (attendee bias). First PJ show and all time fav. A phenomenal show. First Temple of the Dog reunion! Really needs to be a vault release someday. 7. 2006.05.19 - Grand Rapids. Great setlist, vibe and performance. A stand-out boot. 8. 2006.09.19 - Torino. Flawless performance of Avocado straight through. (Any Italy show from '06 is quality). 9. 2008.06.16 - Cloumbia. Everything about this boot is great. And the best version of the revamped W.M.A. of the tour. 10. 2014.11.23 - Los Angeles (attendee bias). Just give it a listen. I dare you to say it is not a great boot. Solid set list. Almost all of Ten, a brilliant Garden, with All or None and ending with Indifference. Great energy all around.
I fully expect the fall 2014 boots to shakeup my list (Moline and Milwaukee!).

I hope this isn't a dumb question, (it might just be one though lol), but how do you hear all these shows that have not been officially released? Is there some website that has all the shows available to listen to or to purchase?
