I was able to catch The War on Drugs twice last weekend. Here are a couple shots I took. Fantastic performances, one outdoors, the other in a small barn, very intimate.

Both were very heavy with Lost in the Dream with a few from Slave Ambient. The set in the woods was more upbeat (although both sets had "Under the Pressure" and "An Ocean in Between the Waves"), and the set in the barn had some of the slow burners like "Suffering" and "Reverse".

I probably should start listening to Kurt vile more. You would probably dig Strand Of Oaks.

I really enjoy Kurt Vile and LOVE Strand of Oaks!
I really dig War on Drugs too. I have Slave Ambient and Lost in a Dream. Both are quite good, my only issue is at times I think he should end songs about two minutes earlier than he does. Sometimes I dig that they kind of space out but I think they do it on too many songs. Mostly good stuff though. Nice to see them getting some love here.

Liking this album (Lost in the Dream). It's like Don Henley and My Morning Jacket met up at an arcade in the 80's, went back to his garage to play some tunes together and Bruce Springsteen stopped by to help out with a couple songs. Good stuff.

i've only been a subscriber for a couple months. my first lp was JAGUERRA - hue, which wasn't bad but didn't do a lot for me. last month was sylvan esso's s/t, which i liked a lot. both versions were "limited" color variants and i think hue was numbered. you can see the past archive here - http://vinylmeplease.com/archive/ - and if you're like me, you are impressed with what they've put out previous. it did get me to sign up, after all.

I was thinking that as well the more I listened to it. This may be far fetched, but on a couple songs I can hear some "Pink Floyd, Division Bell stuff" in there. Could just be me...

Also, if you like the newest one, I can't recommend enough: check out "Slave Ambient." "Best Night" is worth it alone.

I also recently stumbled upon this band. I was also blown away by Lost In A Dream. Beginning to End. Excellent driving record. I haven't taken a road trip while listening to it yet but it will absolutely be something that I throw on for my next extended drive.
