i want to listen to a pirate radio station that plays nothing but PJ.

guess i'll have to make do with my mp3 player.

is this rain ever going to fucking stop? i'm starting to get a taste for what it might be like to live on the west coast!

Anyone of you Jam-ifax fans going to see Live at the Metro Centre? There still seems to be fairly good tickets left.

I was really thinking about it. Didnt want to go bad enough to wait in line or be first online or anything like that. I can't see them filling the metro center..but who knows I guess. By the way...and I may get villified for this..but I heard Live along with Chris Daughtry (American Idol) on the radio, they recorded the song Mystery..which I think is LIve's new single..anyways...very good song and good version with the two of them...thoroughly enjoyed it.

i had no idea they were going to be playing there.

i suppose if i lived in Halifax i might consider it for old-time's sake (LIVE was the soundtrack to my first college experience), but i'm not ready to invest money i don't have in taking a bus to halifax to see them.

might be a good show though.

I think Throwing Copper was playing non stop in my car stereo, circa '95-96, during my first year at university. I'm going more for my wife than myself. It's payback for dragging her to most of the concerts that I go to.

If they were playing nothing but stuff from their first couple of albums i would be a little more upset about missing.

Funny thing is, i just dug out Throwing Copper the other day and cranked it. Sure brought up a lot of old memories of staying late at school trying to get our portfolios done and getting yelled at by the business instructors because we graphics people were just too loud with our raucous music and pajama and office chair races down the halls.

    ahhh, those were the days.

The Rolling Stones in Halifax rumor is ramping up again. Just heard from a pal who told me about the show in Moncton before it was announced that it is starting to take shape. Still no official word, but a day after he tells me this, I saw a little note in the Halifax Daily News that 4 Canadian dates are possible and Halifax may be one of them. He came through last time, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt (he also confirmed PJ in the maritimes before it was ever announced)....so Im calling it....Stones in September ;-)

All that said..Im still not sure that I care to go..I loved the show in Moncton, if only for the atmosphere..and yes..the Stones were pretty good. Be cool if there were some great supporting acts to make a day out of it.

Ah Yeah. I'll be seating in Section 22 Row xx for the Live show this July 16th.

Aswell, you guy's attending the NOFX & Wilco shows at the Dartmouth Waterfront? http://www.ticketatlantic.com/concerts/ I'm thinking on going to the NOFX .. not much a fan of Wilco's stuff.

About the PJ Radio stuff .. I use to play the PJ back in '98 when I went to Saint Mary's University. The radio station was called CFSM (don't know if it's still running today). I spreaded the jam 3 times a week, on 1 to 2 hour sessions. Two times the month, I was able to play 2 full hours of live PJ shows. It was awesome. There wasn't many fans on campus, but i didn't care. Those bootlegs I bought those days (before the internet) over at Taz Records .. were played onair. Ah the memories.

Dalhousie's radio station CKDU .. SUCKS!! .. WHY? .. Back in '94 when they played Betterman first time on air, they stopped playing it just a few seconds in, and complained how shitty it was etc.. They had the vinyl LP days before the cd release came out. I got my vinyl over at Sam's in Halifax. :) Ever since .. i've never cared or tuned into the CKDU.

Q104 is playing the PJ non-stop. It's great .. but where were they years ago? They hardly played them during the 9 to 5 working day. It was always in the evenings .. 1 or 2 times a day. Before PJ came, it was 24/7 Nickelback, Theory Of A Dead Man, Matchbox 20 & AC/DC (i don't mind ac/dc, but not ever single hour .. come on) .. and still today they play them 24/7. It was complete insanity. After the PJ Halifax gig & the new album .. they are now spinning the singles. THANK GOD.

I dreamed for PJ to come here in Halifax for years & it came true. I was in the 2nd row, right in front of Stone .. fucking awesome. A PJ '06 or '07 stop would be awesome, but lets not get greedy. We're lucky they ever came here, history was made. I would love to see PJ come here again on their next new album tour. One more magical night here in Halifax, let's make it happen.

    Cheers :)

okay, let's see if you're right on this one.

then we'll get you to predict when PJ will come back. (insert Lost Clay's fabulously placed lyrics for Come Back here ;))

Yah..I wish I could give a word on PJ coming back.

This guy is involved with providing the on site medical supplies/staff...so he usually is involved as soon as a contract is signed. So....when he knows..or when he chooses to tell me..I will pass it along! hahaha

But yes...lets see if I am right..hope I am...pretty dismal concert landscape ahead of us.

By the way....I don't think that the Live show is going to be long for this world. 2 days in and you can still get floor seats less than half way back and bowl seats right by the stage.

it was also mentioned in the coast as a "pretty much for sure" thing. would trade this in less than a second to another city for a PJ show...any takers? :)
  • swardsward Posts: 586
Which edition of the Coast was it in? I'd like to read that.

And..yes..I'd make that trade immediately. I don't even like the Stones..I just like events!

i'm with you on that! i'd much rather that PJ come back than another fossil show.

i know, i know, i'm beind disrespectful to the rock elders, but i seriously have no interest in seeing the Stones. the only Stone i want to see is of a Gossard persuasion.

finally got someone at FOX to play some PJ today during the noon hour show. i didn't specify which song, so they played Evenflow. Not my first choice, but beggars can't be choosers.

I hope that this show happens for my wife's sake but I smell CANCELLED written all over this. All far as the Stones' show is concerned, I would love to see them come back to the Maritimes again but I think that I would have to go for a trade for another PJ show in Halifax...if I had a choice.
  • Maybe the Stones could open for Pearl Jam in Halifax on the fourth leg of their tour. The Maritimes/east of Quebec leg....just a suggestion

Thought I would add some tour news...Dixie Chicks are here in Hali on August 8....also slated for St John.....and well...Hillary Duff is coming back in July.

Might check out the chicks just to support them through an obvious blacklisting...and frankly..I like some of their stuff. H.Duff...ummm...no...but I know lots of kids who missed out the last time when it sold out so fast...and will be quite happy!

Oh and I guess Randy Travis is coming. Good time to be a country fan I guess (If there is ever a good time)...along with the big country concert in Moncton.

sorry...i was having a batman moment.

i need to stop listening to boots from the first leg...they make me sad. sad that i'm not there. sad that it's not looking good for us this year.

however, it also makes me happy. makes me look forward to what is to come!

LIVE would be pretty cool. Anyone remember Shit Town ? Cool tune. I've got a later album, psychodelic cover with When Dolphins Cry, and all that horseshit. Not a bad album actually.

Well, I've changed computer labs, so my thoughts should be a little purer now. LOL. Alas, there's nothing noteworthy to convey in a coherent fashion presently.....

How 'bout this ? All Hail PJ. Hard To Imagine as an opener - whoa. Something has to be done about PJ returning. I'll throw that out as a fucking challenge to anyone............maybe something more concrete has to be devised asnd implemented........
