Been listening to more and more MMJ lately, and keep thinking how incredibly sweet Jim James' voice is. I am not holding out much hope that PJ will come out our way anytime soon, but I think it's realistic to put my hopes in seeing MMJ play Red Rocks late summer, after their album is out

Dave... Is he with a huge group of people from the Northeast? I ran into them last night and a ton of Philly people here.

I've been on a 4 day bender but I will say... I think the best live act today has to be these guys. PJ is obviously one of the all time greats, but currently these guys are in their prime and just mind blowing. That second night honestly might be the show that dethrones the last Spectrum show for best I've ever seen. And it's now just getting really really hard to make a case against them being the best.

The Phone Went West was just on another level the other night.

Seeing MMJ play at Red Rocks would be #2 on my list...right behind seeing PJ at The Gorge!!
I'm with you & hoping I get to mark this off my list this fall...a 2 or 3 night run over Labor Day weekend would be INCREDIBLE!!

    Show # 3

    Victory Dance
    Outta My System
    Lowdown
    I'm Amazed
    Golden
    Harvest Moon
    Carried Away
O is The One That is Real
    Strangulation
    (end of) Run Thru
    Dondante
    Don't Do It (w/ PHJB)
    Anytime

    Wordless Chorus
    Touch Me Pt 1
    The Day is Coming
    Isn't It a Pity (w/ Wayne Coyne)
    Careless Whisper
    Highly Suspicious (w/ PHJB)
    Dancefloors (w/ PHJB)
All Night Long (w/ PHJB and Dave Givan)
    Rock the Casbah

Somebody on the MMJ board said that they spoke to Bo at the poker table, haha. They weren't going to play any new songs because they didn't know them that well and they still weren't sure what was going to be on the album. They had about 24 songs completed. I don't know how much time it takes for that process to finish, but I really hope it jives with a tour this summer. It's been over a year (NYE in Boston) and I need a fix!

I'd kill to hear them do Don't Do It.

Hell, for that matter, to be the central band in reenacting The Last Waltz one Thanksgiving weekend.

I am a huge fan of Houndmouth, who are from Indiana, just across the river from Louisville. I was lucky enough to see them on the closing night of their fall tour at Headliners here in Louisville - lucky because they're awesome but even luckier because Jim James helped them close out the show. As someone said earlier, that man has a sweet, sweet voice. Would love for them to begin their tour here in the Ville....at Headliners would be even better!

Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

Just got back from Mexico and I need a week long nap. Great time and great, great shows.

  • The audio leaves something to be desired because the boots come out Wednesday. But for me, this PWW was the dirtiest version they have ever done. If anyone knows of any better ones please, fill me in.

Awesome. I think that's my fav jacket song. Where did you hear those boots were coming out Wednesday?
  • The OBH Facebook page threw it out there earlier today. They said they would be out this past week sometime but today they nailed down Wednesday as a legit date.

And yeah, when I first got into them I really hated, hated everything from their first two albums but after hearing them live, it's completely different. It's about time I can finally say I am seeing one of the best live bands in their absolute prime. These guys are on fire and show no signs of slowing down.

I can't get enough of this band right now. My ipod nano is filled with nothing but PJ and MMJ boots. Needless to say, when I go for a run every day - it is always enjoyable and I look forward to it.
