I've recently matted and framed the posters from all of my shows but am missing this one. I know the 98 STL is tough to come by and coveted by all but my cave will not be complete until I get this up. I thought I could be patient and wait for one to show itself but I overestimated my patience capacity. Please let me know if you can part with this or know where I can locate. I have contacted everyone on EB and haven't seen one on ebay in quite some time. Thanks all

Good luck! I was lucky to obtain the VFC one from someone on here years back for $30, and the 98' Ames from a friend who II went to the show with (he got my second 10c ticket, 3rd row). He had it rolled up in storage complete with pinholes from his old room. Naturally I asked for it and he said I could never sell it, ever. Hahaha! Welcome to the board :D

The importance that these posters have taken on is astounding. 98 STL was my first show so it represents much more than just its rare availability. As soon as I posted this I had a feeling that I'd get a lot of "GOOD LUCK" posts so I appreciate the story to round out the knife-like sharpness that those words instill due to the unliklihood of discovery. Great show, can only imagine what 3rd row was like...I was stuck in the lawn.

  • I went to 3 shows that tour 1. Chicago 2. St. Louis and 3. Kansas City. I was smart and bought KC and STL posters but for some reason went with the t-shirt with the poster on it for Chicago. I ended up paying $350 for the Chicago poster in 2011 (it is in my avatar). Also luckily the STL and KC didn't get destroyed from all of my moves.

I wish you all the luck in tracking one down. The hunt is a lot of fun.

You just never know what will happen. Keep bumping your thread, start saving back poster funds little each month in the meanwhile. I've seen people on here find what they're after with some persistence & getting to know folks that 'know someone who has...' & frequent the LD forum often.

Thanks guys, the hunt is a blast...can't disagree there. The uncertainty is annoying however. Much bigger problems in the world though. Joey - I went with the shirt in 98 (red w/ the yellow birds down the front) and wore that thing into the ground for 15 years, loved that thing. It treated me well but certainly not as durable as the beautiful print in a frame would have (not certain if it can still be called a shirt but still resides in my drawer). Once I find the poster I'm going to try to find another one of those shirts...and the excitement of the hunt will continue.

Someone had a framed 98 STL poster on EB a couple of months back (I think that he wanted like $500) -- it is a beauty!

Actually it was in December and he wanted $550. Good luck with your search -- I will keep my eye out for one.

dfishberg - I reached out to that guy a number of times and never heard back from him. I couldn't believe it given how recent the post was. Just tell me it is gone already if that's the case. Thanks for the heads-up though.

That was my first show. Found the poster about 2 years ago after being patient for a long time. Looks incredible in my basement. Keep looking. You will find it.

Thank you for keeping the candle of hope lit Mookie...perhaps it is best if you don't define your use of "long".

I will leave it to you in my will. My wife has no clue as to its significance.

I'm an idiot and failed to specify which poster I was looking for from the 04 VFC show. While I do have aspirations of collecting the NEOCON set, this time around I'm looking for the one with the elephant that I believe was sold at multiple stops on that tour. Sorry for the confusion bwick, I appreciate the help man.

Those Neocon ones are not that great. The general VFC one is badass. Who the hell wants a poster of Dick Cheney in their home anyway? =))
    Bump for your search!

I think the set is awesome but I'm with you 2, I'd have a very difficult time hanging those d-bags in my house.

Yeah, probably not going to put anything overtly political up in my house. That being said, the GWB is the only poster I do not have. from the shows I have attended. I would never get it framed. I do like the elephant. The frame cost more than the print.

Well done buck. The cost of custom framing is absurd. I found a deal on a standard sized black wooden frame that fits the majority of my prints then purchased the mats online. Still rather expensive and time consuming given the quantity but I'm coming in around $40 each which I feel is pretty solid. Not as pretty as custom but they came out quite well I must say.

I spent $20 on a glass frame and some red acid free paper as a backdrop. Did same for the 98' Ames. Michaels + coupons. Save some $$!

    Thanks again Joey.

Also, a big thank you to AS72587 for hooking me up with the VFC piece at a very reasonable price.

1 more to go...but it's the big one!
