Please play Rival. In any city this year! Philly or Hartford would be great!!
Ill be there with my sign
My second PJ show ever was July 3rd, 2003 in Mansfield. I didn't realize how rare of a song it would become at the time, but since that show is probably the best sounding boot I can think of, I listen to Rival often. I can't get enough of it, easily a top 10 PJ song for me. I remember a few years back (I'm guessing just prior to the 2010 tour) where Matt Cameron mentioned they wanted to play more of their songs that have odd timing/off beats that require more rehearsing, specifically mentioning Rival. They didn't really follow through on that promise, playing it just the one time in Boston. The 5 boroughs on NYC have never heard the song live0 -

The fact that this song had been player only twice in ten years is beyond me.
As a drummer this song is great.. Musically it's awesome and I would really love to see it live this year.
Please play rival in 2013.0 -

Warms my heart to see this post today. I was walking around in the Natural History Museum in London earlier listening to Binaural and this is my 2nd favorite song behind "Insignificance."
As a close media observer, its stunning to read 2013 media reviews of Lightning Bolt saying how crap it is, and yet waxing nostalgic for Pearl Jam's more "experimental" days on Binaural. I remember when that record came out, no one gave a FUCK in the media. Especially for how weird it was.
Binaural sounds brilliant these days, especially a true gem like "Rival." Here's to 2013, Lightning Bolt, 23 years of PJ, and hoping for a "Rival" bust out on this tour!

Haha yeah funny how that works isn't it? To the media's credit though Binaural took forever to grow on me, now it's by far my favorite.0 -

An AMAZING Rival.
Ed starts in "This ones called Rival..."
Plagued by some kind of intermittent electrical problem the guitar cuts in and out right before the solo...Stone just shreds right on through it.Bristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180 -

Fingers crossed. I'd still love to hear it live. Berlin or Stockholm would be nice, PJ :shifty: :wave:Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue! http://community.pearljam.com/discussion/148993/please-pearl-jam-consider-a-vinyl-benaroya-hall-re-issue0 -
