Glad to hear some of our most passionate Rival fans got it! Sounded like another amazing version on YouTube.

There are no words to explain how amazing it was. The excitement building as we got closer and closer. Such a great moment in a night filled with nothing but great moments.
Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Awesome! Love hearing you guys' reactions. I felt the same way when they played Ten in Philly, Deep and Release were the only 2 I was missing and they're 2 of my favorites.

Knowing that they were coming didn't diminish their awesomeness at all, sounds like it didn't for Rival either! Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Rival gets better and better each time you listen to it. Nuff said.

This song NEVER gets talked about so I figured I would give it some love during a crazy time on the Porch. The riff is so simple yet so awesome, the lyrics are some of Stone's best, the addition of the piano is genius and the overall structure of the song is so original and unpredictable. And, along with most of the other songs on Binural, Matt couldn't have drummed it better, especially at the beginning.

I would probably put it in my ever changing top 10 in easily in the top 3 most underrated Pearl Jam songs.

When I listen to Binural and hear Thin Air, then one track later hear Of the Girl, then one more later hear Rival it really makes me get down on my knees and pray that there is a couple of completely Stone written songs on the next album. Although it is unlikely considering it hasn't happened in 13 years. :(
Yes please for LV night 2

Love rival. Never caught it live.
Always thought Unthought Known into Rival would fit.
"You will be no one's rival" into dooom awa wa wa wa wa waaaa.
The lyrics fit together anyway...if I'm remembering them correctly.
    Throw stones starting.. .....now!

Love Rival! Lucky to catch it in Atlanta ‘00 and was GA in Jacksonville! One of my favorites.
  • Please play RIVAL!  Been hoping to catch this but nada so far.  Vegas 2 would be a great place to dust this one off.
