One side of my family had Christmas exchange early this year, and my mom (who's pretty savvy as an online shopper, so I always give her a more adventurous wish list than I give my in-laws) managed to get me the Temple of the Dog reissue and the Mad Season Above180g. I had sent her the TOTD Amazon link as soon as SoundStage Direct had sold out of the limited purple copies, so I was expecting a black TOTD, but she said after ordering it from Amazon, she kept getting ship-delay notices, and finally cancelled the order and placed one with an Amazon Marketplace vendor (not sure who) for a little cheaper, and what came was the limited purple vinyl edition! Beautiful discs, and it sounds great (as does the Mad Season, which is on black vinyl).
Other recent scores include the Rockaby Baby PJ lullabies on yellow vinyl--sent as a gift by my best friend for my four-month-old, after I failed to score the only copy at the store I went to for RSD Black Friday--the Weezer Pinkerton 4-LP box set (grabbed online in a Black Friday deal), and several items on Black Friday itself:
-Soundgarden, Screaming Life/FOPP on blue and clear LPs
-Stone Temple Pilots, Core on yellow vinyl
-The Civil Wars, U2, and Silversun Pickups ten-inchers
Not to mention, the Third Man Vault release of Raconteurs Live at the Ryman showed up a week ago. It's been fun trying to squeeze in some listening time between child-rearing and Christmas festivities, but I've gotten through first spins of most of them. It's the most wonderful time of the year!0 -

1st pressing, near mint record, EX cover, for $20 USD... is that a decent deal?? I have no concept of what Led Zep albums are worth for some reason. I think it's hard for me to grasp because there are just SO many pressings and copies....With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

One of the all-time great jazz... no, one of the all-time great anything records. Trane, Tyner, Garrison, Jones and a heavy dose of something other worldly. Good show, reesdog!
My copy is an original mono LP which is cool but also means it's grooves are well worn. A few quick questions- is this a re-issue and if so, how does the it sound? Mono or stereo? Nice find either way!"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
