THey were on point tonight. Great energy and Brian was having the time of his life up there. A very standard setllist but the highlight for me was definitely We Came to Dance.

After the set I hung around the fence near the backstage and I met Brian! Talked about PJ and got a picture. He's not going to any shows this tour.
That's awesome!! I had the opportunity to go for free yesterday, but had a butt ton of work to do, plus was fasting, so wouldn't have been wise to go. So jealous you got to meet Brian! Glad they rocked.

Ah you should have came! ;) Yeah it was awesome. Joan Jett and Flogging Molly came on after them, but I didn't care. I was a total fangirl and was so happy that I just went home and listened to more Gaslight

During the show? Or afterwards to meet Brian?

Rumors of a live DVD from London 2013 for a December release are abound. Interpunk has it for pre-order. Nowhere else though. Could be bogus.

Looks like the DVD thing is real. It's up for pre order on infinite merch. Very short set list though.

Yeah, weird that it is only 10 songs. I'll probably still buy it, but why not make it a full show?

I was at the second gig in London where it was filmed, it seems odd to have only used 10 songs, they filmed both full shows with multiple cameras including in crowd ones as I was next to one :)
I wonder if it will include Alex smashing his guitar.
It also says the dvd will include extra footage, and they did film the soundcheck I went to as well.

10 song DVD is SUPER disappointing. Does anyone know what they did/what they plan on doing with the footage they filmed at the 3 T5 shows in NY? I know they aired the show on AXS but didn't they plan on using it for a DVD as well? Wasn't in a rush to buy the b-sides LP b/c I bought the box set. I decided to pick it up today and the black/white was sold out. Argh! If anyone has an extra, PM me.

I am sure there are other opinions, but what got me into them was The 59 Sound album. It is probably their most famous. I'd start there.
A little more raw, but maybe better, is Sink or Swim
Finally, they have a four song EP, I can't remember the name of it, that have a couple of my all time favourite songs by them.

Yes, I would recommend you start with 59 Sound as well. My favorite album is Sink or Swim, Which was their first album. The EP is also amazing, especially Say I Won't (Recognize)!

I got into them through 59 Sound and then Senor Ep (which I didn't listen to enough when I first got it) . I loved American Slang and Handwritten when they came out, but probably the album I listened to least when I first got it was Sink or Swim. I really started listening to this about 2 years ago and it is easily my favourite album. I do enjoy all their other work, but the newer stuff gets tiresome after repeat plays (for me). The rawer sound of Sink or Swim and Senor Ep captures them feeling in the songs better imo.

I do still enjoy all their music, but love the early stuff.

When the info came out about the DVD, I jumped straight onto the website to buy the deluxe pack with the shirt etc. Then I saw it was a 10 song DVD and thought that was ridiculous - why bother. I think that people want to watch a full concert when buying a live DVD- it gives you the feeling of being there and not missing out on songs.

I just wished their earlier stuff was mixed better. It sounds like I recorded it in my basement.

I recommended 59 sound as it is probably the most "hit" friendly. That being said I love all their albums with Sink or Swim most likely my favourite. We came to dance, blue jeans and white t'shirt and we did when we were young being my favourite songs.
Anyone know why they never play that last song live?

Not positive, but Brian mentioned some stage banter about them playing their old songs that we wanted to hear that they didn't want to play. (I think it was the Asbury Park bootleg?) After trying to learn some songs on guitar, my opinion, is that sink or swin songs are simple and they don't enjoy the simplicity of them? Thats a pure guess/speculation. SInk or Swim ismy favorite album and I love the simplicity.

I saw them do it down at DeLuna when Eddie came out. Pretty good version but the studio version is good stuff, too. I love those guys.
