Oh....I would add that Eddie should personally bless the water before it is given away; after all they are a caring band, so why not take advantage of that?
Another well loved member pointed out to me there should probably have a on site massage for feet and calves from all the standing you do so you don't develop medical conditions in your legs. Probably best if you just bring a chair and cooler I think.#FHP0 -

Their are millions of people that haven't had a clean drink or a meal in days and your asking for tap water so you can keep your trendy spot at a show?!?! How about they just put a concession stand right in front of the stage right next to a merchandise booth and let you bring in ropes so you can keep your coveted spot? Wait fuck, I need someone to bring me shit to my seat as well. I hate having to move. Some of you fuckers are completely delusional. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.0 -
It's the same mentality by those who think they should be able to walk away from the pit and have everyone move out of the way when they come back so they can stand in the same place as before - entitlement. If you are responsible and plan accordingly, you can plan/time your hydration and bathroom breaks out so that you can both be at the rail, not have to go to the bathroom and not complain that there's no water given out at the rail. I did it, it was a pain in the ass but it was worth it. If I had left the spot I had because I had to go to the bathroom or because I was dehydrated - that would be my fault. I wouldn't expect handouts or special treatment or anything else. That's childish and ridiculous. :fp:24 years old, mid-life crisis

I really don't think we should stop with water. I mean....I waited in line all day last week and I was STARVING by the time I got to the floor! The security guard wouldn't even give me a bite of his burger!!! So I had to feast on day old York Peppermint Patties that had been in my pocket all day and were squished. I must have looked like an idiot licking the wrappers to get 100% of each mint. My hands were so covered in chocolate that I couldn't even clap at the beginning of Corduroy!!!! Ridiculous!!!!!
I propose that 10c and the arena security deliver pizzas for all GA ticket holders to enjoy from the time they enter the floor until the band takes the stage. I am sure the band would want adequately fed members in the pit so nobody turns to cannibalism, rather than lose his or her space! I remember back in the 80's when they had vendors in the pit, just like at baseball games!!! C'mon 10c!!!Post edited by mookieblalock on0 -

Good to see you looking after your fellow fans up front!
Ummm.....what?
It's amazing how someone who wants the safery to improve up front get so much shit from people like you. I don't get it. I guess us Europeans have different expectations on a ga crowd and the security around it. I'll leave it at that.PJ

That's the thing, this has nothing to do with safety. Nobody is in harms way. Please tell me again how they are?0 -

I'm not talking about selling water here btw, any good ga floor you're not gonna be able to pick up your wallet. But have water available for people who are dehydrated has everything to do with safety. Especially if it's so crowded that you can't just walk out.
I just think there is a difference in our experiences standing in front of a PJ show.PJ

The other guy told me to go buy concession if i was thirsty. all they care about is making money and not the safety of their customers (unless you're crowd surfing off course lol)
thanks for the post
I get the concerns, but shouldn't it be someone's own responsibility to go and get themselves some water if they are so dehydrated? To me, this sounds like people would rather be on the verge of passing out rather than losing their precious spot on the rail. Seems kinda silly to me.
Correct.This is a birthday pony0 -
Wow, i did not expect this kind of response on here. Perhaps i have just been spoilt by decent security in arena shows.
It is a matter of crowd safety. Security are there to help the crowd. It gets hot, it gets pushy, and people get dehydrated. When that happens, it can get dangerous.
From small theatre shows, to arena shows, water is a common place thing at gigs in Australia, especially for those at the front taking the brunt from the crowd behind them.
I have been on the rail at a PJ show where there was no water, somebody got the word to PJ security, not venue security, and before too long there was water.
Again, this is a matter of crowd safety.2003 - Sydney x3,2006 - Reading Festival,2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,2010 - I watched it go to fire!2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

So, which one of the shows this tour was someone not physically capable of getting out of the pit to get to the concession stand or a restroom?0 -

My argument is about water, not taking a piss. If you've gotta pee, then you leave. That's simple.
If you want a beer, or a full bottle of water, go and get one.
In my experiences, it is pretty common place for security to provide water to those up front.2003 - Sydney x3,2006 - Reading Festival,2007 - Katowice, London, Nijmegen, Rock Werchter,2008 - MSG x2, Hartford, Mansfield x2, Beacon Theater,2009 - Melbourne, Sydney,2010 - I watched it go to fire!2011 - EV Brisbane x3, Newcastle, Sydney x3,2012 - Manchester x 2, Amsterdam x2, Prague, Berlin x2, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen,2014 - Sydney, EV Sydney x3

This seems to be the norm outside the US, so that's why us non-Americans expect that. But the crowds are different outside the us as well, so there is a greater need for water.PJ

Can't get their head around giving away something for nothing that they can go and pay exorbitant prices for in the same building, even in the name of crowd safety:corn:

correct
Not correct. It's just not practical with GA to have people leave, come back, etc. - actually creates a worse situation. This is why many venues have started passing water. Outdoor events, too. It's literally pennies to them, and prevents a lot of potential injury, lawsuits, embarrassment, etc. - what's the harm?0
