Can you list this top 20 you speak of?
37 PJ Shows, 3 EV Shows, 1134 Total Songs, 24 Different Openers, 9 Different Closers, 252 Unique Songs (never enough)

No I can't at this time. I hate "lists"...they're all so subjective or based on sales. So whatever show I say is in the top 20 it's bullshit, it's only what I feel....but some shows are CLEARLY better than others.

BTW, to the person who has seen 86 shows, I stopped counting after 100....seen them in 18 states and 26 countries since 1994. Definitely, not the best ever. But it sounds like it was the best show of the tour so far. I should say that a great PJ show entails great energy (from both the band and the crowd), a great setlist, and the X factor

    I'm so fired up.

There's no way I would ever suggest a show I wasn't at was better than a show I was at... unless you get food poisoning like I did at the Police.

I pretended for the longest time that I had a great time... but ultimately, I admitted that the experience wasn't as great as it could have been.

It is pretty hard to determine. Most people aren't at all the shows. You end up having people argue for the best ones they've seen.

Mansfield (The one with the acoustic set) in 2003, Gorge 05, Solder Field '95, Last night at the Spectrum, and a few others tend to pop up at the top of people's list.

Kind of hard to tell though. It's pretty subjective.

I can say that Santa Barbara 03 was the greatest show no one knows about.

I agree, so my greatest was Buffalo last week and my real favourite is TBD by this logic

    May 10/10 Buffalo, New York
    Sept.11 & Sept 12/2011, Toronto, Ontario
    Sept. 15/11 Hamilton, Ontario
    Oct. 12/13 Buffalo, New York
    Oct 16/14 Detroit, Michigan

Night 1 certainly has the better setlist. Night 2 has skipped entire Binaural-Riot Act-Avocado albums.
What's your part, who you are?

definitely top ten out of the fifty I saw. However I have some historical shows to compare it too. Which when I think about it kind of sucks because I don't know if i'll ever see the greatest pj show again. argh.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

The Brooklyn 2 show was my 104th show. I gotta say that it was my favorite show. Ive seen them all over at "epic' shows, randalls island, penn state, all the gardens, everywhere. The second Brooklyn show, for me, was my all time, hands down, favorite. Everyone has a different experience at shows. Theres never gonna be a right answer to this question.

this is something that is always troublesome.....

the initial euphoria can do strange things

but NY 2 was without question (from what Ive heard) an amazing experience

It has some serious competition for the best NYC PJ show ever and I don't think it is even a top 5 PJ show of all time, but it was a great set list and seemed to be a great show too.
