Any of you folks collect the PJ sports themed shirts? I am donating an XL, never worn Philly's shirt for the preparty. It's from 2009 when the Spectrum closed and the Phil's played across the street in the World Series. An incredible run and many wonderful memories. So please, open up your hearts and closets to donate to the first preparty for the first show on the tour! Thanks. :D

NO, the Southside /Carson Street bar scene is on the other side of the river. Not within walking distance. If you come to town the night before ...def. check it out. Also, check out SouthSide Works. We have a Hofbrahaus and some other indoor/outdoor restaurants/bars. A step up from the the bars along Carson. The Strip District (find it on our map) also has a lot of places to go but they are more like night clubs.

I'm going to post another comment with a ton of info to help you while you are here.

If you get in the night before the concert... be sure to go see THE TEN BAND at the Hard Rock Café. It is located at Station Square. You can find that on the Map as well. It's across the river from the venue but still very close. https://www.facebook.com/events/150205955173169/

There are plenty of places in town to have drinks , as well as the North Shore. You can take the North Shore Connector, which is a train that runs from Downtown to the North Shore, where Heinz Field and PNC Park are located. There are lots of restaurants and bars, Three Rivers Casino, Science Center...and the Train is FREE. You can park cheaper on the North Shore too ...then take the T into town and walk to the Consol Energy Center. It's about a 15 min walk.

If you have some time to sight see. Make sure to visit Point State Park. Our beautiful Fountain that sits at the convergence of our three rivers. It's beautiful.... plus it should be peak season for fall foliage.

IMPORTANT: Cabs in Pittsburgh need to be called for .. it's not like NYC here. They aren't driving around waiting to pick you up. http://www.pghtrans.com/yellow_cab.cfm
Most of our bridges to get from town to the North Shore and Station Square have pedestrian walkways if you choose to walk.

Even though cabs aren't driving around to be hailed, if you're downtown just walk to a hotel. Most hotels have a few cabs in line waiting for fares and will gladly give you a ride.

Also don't forget, the giant rubber duck will be in town then. It's a 40 foot tall rubber duck that's part of an art exhibit. I believe it's gonna be by the clemente bridge when it's set up.

Very cool! You can see it from Point State Park , the North Shore , the Ball fields and Convention Center. Thanks Ognit!
