Ooh yes yes yes. When does that drop?

Hopefully next year...but no one knows...
:( You got me all excited. For some reason I thought it was "later in 2012". We've heard that before :lol:

Saw the concert on sunday night in Edinburgh was fucking amazing, slash as always was amazing on guitar, as where the rest of the band, and myles what a singer, and such a vocal range, but i'll tell you what. when todd kerns took over on vocal for 4 songs, man that was something else too, he could easily front the band himself he was that good, not that i want to get rid of myles, i'd rather not, but, if there came to a point where he didn't want to do it or couldn't, then at least there is someone else to step in.

here's the setlist we got. great set.

:mrgreen::mrgreen: Todd does front a band, Sin City Sinners and he also plays guitar for them. Multi-talented dude. I love the guy. He has a blog where he answers everyone's questions.

I love bands that are truly bands and they definitely seem like it, except for the name :fp:

I meant Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. I love the way they interact on stage and it's not just all about Slash or Slash and Myles. Maybe not the young guitarist but I think that's because he's young, he just does whatever Todd does with the hair flipping :lol: I just wish they would have a proper band name because their name right now implies it is all about Slash even though that's not the case when you see them. I mean, no one does it better than our favourite band for which this forum is named after, but these guys are clearly a band and it's not Slash and his backing band.

I haven't heard Sin City Sinners but I think I have their CD somewhere. I think they only play in Vegas though.

I know and agree with everything you say, especially after just having see them, but i guess they use the name for pulling power, maybe eventually they can drop the slash part, and just be called the conspirators.

I dunno, I get the sense that it's not quite permanent, I remember reading an interview with Todd where he said everyday he gets to play with the Conspirators is a blessing. I do agree that they must be using the Slash name for branding, but because the guys are all so wonderful, there's no ego battles going on. From all the Slash interviews I've read, it seems he feels seriously burned by bands so he may also be hesitant committing to anything long term but he does seem to love these guys and have a connection with Myles. Anyway, I'm just trying to see them as much as I can for now! I do wish they would play some of Myles songs. Or even Todd's for that matter.

Did you watch the movie Rock Star? Myles has a cameo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVMzKKknMwk

  • I saw them last night in London, awesome show. I love the simplicity of what they do, it feels like the real deal, just straight up rock and roll delivered with energy by people who do it simply because they love it! It's such a far cry from the pretentious rock star bull shit that Axl pulls all the time. Myles was on incredible form , I have no idea how he gets to so many of those high notes night after night, truly impressive.

:D:D:D:D Myles is a true professional, he takes good care of himself and his voice. I was reading Todd Kerns' blog and he said Myles is a bit of a germaphobe on tour and will take great pains to make sure he doesn't get sick. Everyone got sick on the tour and Myles was hanging on for awhile but got sick too, they had to cancel a show, think it was in Oakland. At the NYC show, Slash could barely speak, his voice was so hoarse.

    Love these guys.

For all you Myles fans, acoustic Eden from this week's Moscot show (the audio is incredible): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs7uVEwF_F0

I was lucky enough to win tickets to see Myles perform an acoustic set at Moscot in NYC this past Thursday. Blown away! Not only so talented, but so down to earth and a super nice guy. He did a meet & greet after that, I think it was unplanned because they only announced it when we got there. He talked to every single person, signed stuff and took pictures. Amazing.

The event was to support Moscot's Mobileyes Foundation whose mission is to preserve sight and improve lives by providing free quality medical eyecare and eyewear to New York City's underserved populations. Myles designed a pair of glasses, The Myles, 10% from all sales of The Myles benefits the foundation: http://www.moscot.com/whatsnew.asp?id=3585

Thanks for the video, I'd kill to hear some Mayfield Four live! I've met him a couple of times and I can only echo what you've said, for someone with such incredible talent you would be forgiven for expecting a big ego, but he is indeed as down to earth as they come.

It really is incredible! He talked about being nervous and having a moment early on when they announced the show that no one would show up. So silly :lol: So many things I wanted to ask him, mainly if he would do a solo tour (I thought there was talk of him working on a solo album) but of course I forgot, I was so nervous to talk to him. I'm just glad I didn't puke on his shoes and pass out.

That song wasn't planned by the way, it wasn't on the set list, people just started shouting out requests and he was like, keep them coming and I think he did a couple that were requests. He also did Starlight, and prefaced with not having done it without Slash before. It was awesome, of course.

    Setlist from setlist.fm:
Before Tomorrow Comes (Alter Bridge song)
    Coming Home (Alter Bridge song)
Standing in the Sun (Slash cover)
    Starlight (Slash cover)
Traveling Riverside Blues (Robert Johnson cover)
Addicted To Pain (Alter Bridge song) - not on setlist
Eden (The Mayfield Four cover) - not on setlist
    Rise Today (Alter Bridge song)
Watch Over You (Alter Bridge song)
    Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen cover)

Original setlist (on a styrofoam plate LOL):

So I found all the songs on youtube, bless all the people recording. Myles Kennedy acoustic set at Moscot Gallery NYC, Thursday 9/12/2013.

    Before Tomorrow Comes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDOao2-2vq0

    Coming Home: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tx7sjdDCiAE

    Standing in the Sun: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEBAQjh4sSc

    Starlight: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNXUokk-c0k

    Addicted to Pain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDWMtr2BLvU

    Eden: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fs7uVEwF_F0

    Rise Today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tpcYoIVtm4

    Watch Over You: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCovxOsgylU

    Hallelujah: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pev44MxK8Mw
He'd joked earlier in the set that the water bottles were full of vodka, hence the "I'm so drunk right now!" comment. Not having seen Jeff Buckley do this live ever, I felt fortunate to hear Myles sing it. So beautiful!
  • Thanks for the videos, he sounds great. I wish he'd put some time aside to release the solo album he recorded and do a bit of touring, a Songbook style tour would be awesome.

Me too. I meant to ask him about a solo album and tour but of course forgot. To be honest, I think he probably wouldn't be comfortable doing a solo tour. Even for the 1+ hour at Moscot, he kept saying how intimidating it was with everyone staring at him wide-eyed and how he was more nervous than when he's standing in front of tens of thousands of people.

It could be a real flop for most people but I can see Myles kicking ass. I think very few people can carry a crowd on their own. There's no one to make up for you if you have an off night.

Maybe he can do a Myles and Friends tour and Slash can play a song or two with him :)
