Is this album worth picking up right now or should I just spend my money on a Mayfield Four album instead?
By album I'm thinking you mean LP, right? I would say pick up Mayfield Four, since I think those will become harder to find later on but this should be readily available. Or at least more affordable
Trying REALLY hard not to objectify Myles since he's so frigging talented but I can't help it. Talented, smoking, and NICE???
Doesn't help that the more I read about him, the more I like him, seems like a downright nice, humble guy. I mean, even Slash is in love with him! Every Slash interview I've read about Apocalyptic Love has him gushing about Myles.
By just snippets that I've heard the new album sounds ok but not what I was expecting. To me it seems like Myles wrote lyrics more to fit the songs that Slash had wrote. Still sounds like a good album not as good as I had thought, but can't wait to heat none the less!
Tres Mts- 3/16/2011
Eddie Vedder- 7/16/11
Brad- 4/21/12 (RSD Performance), 4/27/12, 8/10/12
Flight To Mars- 5/23/12
RNDM- 11/27/12
PEARL JAM- 12/6/13 I have finally seen Pearl Jam live!

Slash wrote riffs, sent them to Myles then Myles layered in melody and lyrics. Then Slash worked on the songs with Todd and Brent while Myles was touring with Alter Bridge then he joined them to finish the songs. Something like that. So I suppose nothing originated from Myles but he certainly had a significant amount of influence.
that whole show was something special! except for the drunk/special lady ruining most of the recordings with her out of tune loud singing.... As much as I love that myles is getting more exposure with slash... its also put his solo album on the bottom of his list of things to do... :(
Awwww face... you were there... Didn't even bump into you :(
I forgot you were going too! Really good show, I kind of prefer Myles playing with Slash than in Alter Bridge at this point - he seems a lot more into it.
I don't know about that face - they are so different. The size of the venue makes a difference too (I only saw AB at Wembley Arena - never in a smallish venue).

I've seen AB in all sorts of venues, don't get me wrong they've always been stellar live, but I think there are times when he seems to be coasting a bit. I think when he performs with Slash he knows the expectations are higher.
I thought the interviewer could have been more skilled but Myles was very gracious and had no trouble expressing what he wanted to. He seems like a sweetheart. *swoon*
Got to see this show last night in Boston. So good, highly recommended! I walked out a big Myles Kennedy fan. Never really knew much about him but he was awesome. Lemmy was in the house and got up on stage at one point. Six Guns n' Roses songs, one Velvet Revolver and finally, FINALLY I got to see the Godfather guitar solo. Great night! These guys are awesome on stage together!

I LOVE them! They really feel like a band, I thought it was going to feel like the Slash show but Myles is amazing. And that Todd "Dammit" Kerns is very entertaining too. Saw them in May and going to see them again in September.
Lemmy? Did he sing the song he did with Slash?
Cool! Yeah, that's the song! Todd Kerns sings that on tour normally because Myles thinks Todd's voice suits the song more.
Have you listened to Slash's album from 2010? I think it's awesome. He collaborates with a bunch of different singers. Promise with Chris Cornell is kick-ass (but many things Chris Cornell touches often are ). Keep hoping Chris will jump on stage with these guys, would love to hear a Chris/Myles duet of sorts! And of course Starlight and Back to Cali with Myles Kennedy.

Seriously though, the guy is so humble, almost to a fault - with a voice like that he could easily get away with being an arrogant prick.
