Where is the help from other countries regarding human rights, poverty, aids, terrorism, etc.?
China has the money, power, military and clout to get some things done internationally.....what do they do anywhere other than build their own country and relationships that only help them. They are the greediest rich country i have ever seen.
Russia, has nothing to offer but being obstructionists on every one of our policies
Austrailia, LOL
Canada LOL
England, France and Germany.....sometimes they try....but they dont get shit done either
Anyone on here confirm some great things these countries are doing for others?? Please i want to see some big changes brought forth! If not, then that means the good ol USA is hated and loved for being number one in everything!
Where the fuck is China and Russia in Africa?? And where are the Middle Eastern countries when it comes to speaking out against human atrocities??
Looks to me that the USA is the ONLY hope for this world whether you like it or not! So all you anti-Americans out there.....show me another model country that we should follow!

You don't hear much about it because 1. that news isn't sexy and 2. Other countries don't don't self promote and blow smoke up their own ass like the US.0 -

I agree that there is always more we could do, i see our government spend money on crap but i know that Australia has invested $1,378 million in Indonesia over the previous three years.“ "Thank you Palestrina. I'm not going to "rail" down under about spelling errors- got busted for that once already.

Let's clean up our own act and get our own shit together here in the good 'ol U. S. of A. and stop playing world police."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

by isolating yourselves from the rest of the world, things will get much much worse in the "good 'ol U.S of A"0 -

Absolutely true. But I don't mean to suggest we isolate ourselves. Trade goods, share cultures? Sure. But I've been saying for decades we need to take care of business here at home and maybe in doing so, set an example rather than make ourselves world police. I'm not going to go over to my neighbor's place and try to make them clean up their house and yard and stop fighting and poisoning themselves and what ever if I'm doing the same in my home- which is exactly what we are doing."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

I'm not sure that example can be translated to the international stage. your not going over to your neighbours place because the state exists to make laws and more importantly has the power to enforce those laws.
in the international realm it doesn't work like that. countries exist in a state of anarchy, there is no legitimate power that makes the rules and has to power to enforce them. so there are times when a more powerful state should intervene.
instead it is up to individual countries to become the "world police" particularly if they are a hegemony like america.
If the united States shirks that responsibility what will end up happening is that all the countries who are around equal in power will start to battle to fill the void left.
thats how world war one happened0 -
Other countries may think we are crazy. stupid, or egotistical when it comes to helping other countries, but for the ones that say all that, I think their decision not to help says more about them than it does us.~Carter~

you're the only one who can't forgive yourself, oh

This brings to my mind some questions, satansbed-- and I mean them sincerely- not trying to be argumentative or combative but...
1."there are times when a more powerful state should intervene". Why is that and who made it our job? I really don't understand that concept.
2. " it is up to individual countries to become the "world police" particularly if they are a hegemony like america". Why is it up to us and what gives us the right to practice hegemony over other countries? We don't own them.
3. "If the united States shirks that responsibility". But who made it our responsibility? Again, that's something that I just don't get. What if China or Russia acted that way toward the country you or I live in. Would that be OK?
4. "all the countries who are around equal in power will start to battle to fill the void left...that's how world war one happened". World war is something we don't really have to worry about- at least in the sense that all all-out world war would be winnable. Every one would lose.
To my way of thinking, it still makes more sense to clean up our own "house", set an example, and help (help as opposed to forcing our selves upon or enabling) other countries who want to do the same- especially those who want a cleaner, healthier, more peaceful world."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
I really think another country should take charge in this.0

i would like to hear positive work & unity with helping out struggling humanity. it should be big news to get the word out. it aint like a low key athelete or anonymous musician who gives millions to charity in order to better a struggling area in ethiopia or detroitSmellyman wrote:chadwick wrote:i made a list the other day. i ask again

we are talking millions of people from a country all chipping in to lift up those falling apart. then another country helps another or the same country get on their feet. you'd think it would be a chain reactionfor poetry through the ceiling. ISBN: 1 4241 8840 7
