But he went on to say to Eifert in reference to PJ, "Pearl Jam....love it. Old school, brings me back to my high school days. You probably weren't even born yet".
Anyone else catch that?
I did ... a few other people noticed as well. https://twitter.com/search?q=%23HardKno ... e&src=typd
Think it might have been during warm ups of the preseason game? Have to watch the episode again.
The coach got the same look from Eifert that I get when I tell the early 20 year olds in my office about Pearl Jam.

Yeah, Eifert definitely seemed like he had no idea who the coach was talking about. But he seems like a pretty big Gomer Pile anyway. I was thinking it was during warm ups or a break in the game or something.Bristow, VA - 5.13.10

Can't believe that Mike Brown is still GM/president of the Bengals. That meeting with the coaches where they were talking about what players to cut was so uncomfortable to watch. One of those situations where the crazy old man who owns the company (in this case, team) is still running the show and everyone just has to deal with it.0

So true. I work for a large corporation/company, and unfortunately, it just kind of reminds me of that. The head honcho, no matter how much he actually knows or has experienced himself, all the others below him are going to follow order and do what he says and as they are told. A complete dog and pony show. The way that players are referred to as a number or "we can do without him" is just nuts, but it is a business after all. I just don't think I've seen a Hard Knocks yet where the owner is that involved in the cuts and is pretty much the one making that decision. For the most part, the ones with that most authority and who that is delegated to the most is the GM and Head Coach. But I guess he is the GM. I'm talking about someone who has actual experience as a coach, playing, or direct player personnel as te GM. That was very uncomfortable - I always hate seeing the guys get cut, it's always so awkward. I feel really sorry for Aaron Maybin, being an 11th pick overall a few years ago and now can't even make a team and he seems like a good dude who works hard. I can't imagine that pressure and how that would feel to be one of those guys pinned as someone who "hasn't panned out."Bristow, VA - 5.13.10

So the Bengals really don't have an indoor practice facility? Watching the episode from last night and they can't practice because of the rain...seems pretty ridiculous these days.0

After watching this show, I guarantee any member of the Bengals coaching staff would jump at any opportunity to give A.J. Green a hand job. The dude is sick though.
With every episode, and seeing how he interacts with players how much he's respected, the more and more I think Zimmer is the man.Bristow, VA - 5.13.10

AJ Green is awesome. Hoping to get him in my fantasy draft on Saturday.
Shocked that Zimmer isn't a head coach yet. His day has to be coming soon...0 -

I thought same thing.
Also funny that marv lewis still has a job.
Season has been pretty boring0 -

Couldn't agree more, sad to say, but this is the first year where there hasn't been the dynamite competition, new dynamic...when the best thing about the show seems to be an assistant coach who should be a head coach (Zimmer), a washed up linebacker who you are waiting for to snap on a camera guy (Harrison) and the cluelessness of Mike Brown...man, wtf???
I used to make sure the schedule was clear on Tuesday night to watch this show, after a handful I could care less now.
And honestly, don't we all know how this Bengals season plays out??? One and done playoffs, barring a miraculous turnaround from Pittsburgh and a repeat performance by Baltimore.
Sheesh. The first Bengals go round a few years back was light years better than this years version.
No drama or real characters is probably a great thing for the ballclub, however.11.30.93~10.2.96~9.13.98~9.1.00~8.25.00~7.3.03~7.5.03

Definitely not as good as previous seasons. Still cool to get the behind the scenes access, but nothing very exciting.
James Harrison scares the shit out of me. He is one angry dude.
I could actually see the Bengals making a little noise in the playoffs this year...their defense is pretty damn good.0 -

Agree. I will always watch a doc/show like hard knocks because it's so well done. Just happens that the bengals are a boring team/organization. though I don't miss that tool chad johnson at all.
I agree about a possible playoff run. Esp since the AFC blows. Not sold on Dalton though. Loved him at TCU, but not sure he has the stones to beat brady or the forehead in a big game.0 -
How about Dalton and his black rubber wedding ring he wears during practice?Bristow, VA - 5.13.10

how the fuck does an adult not know where the sun rises and sets?!!0

This is going to be a pretty boring season of Hard Knocks. Besides Kush, not many characters on this team. Fisher is pretty boring and no one else really stood out.0

Gregg Williams seems like a real jagoff.0

yes but of the parts i've seen he is the only remotely interesting part this year. I've only seen bits and pieces but has seemed to be pretty boring.Indifference71 said:Gregg Williams seems like a real jagoff.
