For me it was Guns n Roses at the Glasshouse in Melbourne December 1988 for their Appetite for destruction tour.
I was 13 and it was the loudest thing I had ever heard. My ears rang for 3 days.

Garth Brooks 1992 breaking guitars really not a bad show
I'm late to this thread, and I know I'm going to be in a minority here, but I saw Garth's solo show in Vegas a couple of years back and left feeling like it was the best show I'd ever seen. An amazing performer.
Of course, I'm a Texan, so there you go.
My first show was Guns N Roses is 1993!!! I went with my mom.

I will hold the candle until it burns up my arm. I'll keep taking punches until their will grows tired. I will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind. I won't change direction and I won't change my mind.
Beastie Boys "Hello Nasty" tour at the Worcester Centrum Center. It was the summer before the 5th grade for me and my dad was working security there at the time. He took the night off to take me and we had front row! (excluding the pit). It was a circular stage that rotated. My love for music began with that concert. MCA was always my favorite and it hit me harder than I ever imagined it would when he passed.

It had to be around 1985. I was 9 and my mother was obsessed with them.
My first REAL concert was House of Pain w/ Cypress Hill and Rage Against the Machine opening for them. I think that was 1992 or 1993 at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC.

To this day, The Kinks are the only concert I've seen that had a "REAL" encore (that is not pre-planned). It was summer of '87 or ' 88 at Jones Beach. I think they played 2 encores, the lights came on, the crowd stayed, and 15-30 seconds (seemed much longer, but I'm guessing that's all it was), they went out, Kinks came back and did a quick Dedicated Followers of Fashion, lights came back up. For a short time I kept the silly notion that if the crowd kept cheering even after it appeared to be the last encore, whatever band would come back like they did. Silly me...
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
