The season 7 finale was crazy!!! Still not all that wild about Clara though.
The 50th anniversary will have Tennant and Piper in it but I'm pretty sure no Rory or Amy.
And hey, am I the only one that thinks Chris Eccleston is the most "FANTASTIC" doctor? I really wish he would have came back for the anniversary special.
A friend of mine likes Eccleston best out of the post 2005 Doctors. I think he was 'FANTASTIC' but 10 will always be my Doctor
Steven Moffat came out and talked to the crowd lined up to see the doctor who panel at comic con at night. I thought that was pretty awesome. sadly I did not get In to see it :(

I did go last week. Just got back yesterday. Sadly no i did not see the panel Craig Ferguson hosted.
I was going to try to go but it was in Hall H. I got in line for the Friday Panels for around 4:30am and was able to get in. All reports indicated for the doctor who panel that sunday if you were not in line by midnight the night before you were not going to get in (that may not be accurate but there were a ton of people camping out and when i walked by at 8pm that night the line was already huge)
It would have been great but it was not in the cards. I went to the Neil Gaiman panel Sunday instead.
There was a great panel at Nerd HQ that was for Richard Maddon (Rob Stark Game of Thrones) and Matt Smith showed up to that one and did the panel with him. I wish i would have been there for that. Matt did another one with Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones) and STeven Yeun (Walking Dead) but i missed that too.
I basically struck out on all chances to see any doctor who stuff :( but i saw pretty much everything else i wanted to see

I had a hard time getting into last season but I'll give it another shot.
On a sad note ... rest in peace Elisabeth Sladen (aka Sarah Jane Smith) :(
I found this past season to be lacking. I will miss Matt Smith, but I think something needs to shake up the show. I loved Amy and Rory, but they lagged on a bit. However, I think that their last episode was one of the best DW episodes ever. Amy finally chose Rory over the Doctor, once and for all. Honestly, the season finale of this last season was possibly the only episode I actually enjoyed out of the entire season. I think the reason I liked it was because they brought River Song back for it (I love her). I am kind of interested to see what is going on with the old "Doctor" that was revealed at the end. Well, that is my babbling thoughts on the past two seasons.

I have to go with David Tennant. I am also a Rose fan. Although, I think that Donna might be my favorite companion. I know that I am in the minority there, but her and David had crazy comedic chemistry. The adipose episode has to be one of my favorite episodes. Martha has to be my least favorite.

Well Neil Gaiman kinda counts since he has written for DW... also he's NEIL GAIMAN and that's awesome. At least you got to see mostly everything else u wanted to
did you all see karen gillian's big reveal that she shaved her head
I'm really pumped about he 50th anniversary episode. I can't wait to see it.
Oh and now that you mention it the Pearl Jam logo totally looks like a dalek!
yes, that was crazy! I'm really hoping her and Rory appear in the 50th anniversary, it would take some of the sting out of Captain Jack not returning...

During the comic con panel Steven Moffit was very coy about if he would or would not be in the 50th. He said that he has been lying about some things for quite some time trying to keep it mysterious.
those cosplay pics are great. I did not see any of them. I love the snowmen and gasmask ones!

i don't usually get into the gossip of who is which celebrity dating, but i just realized the reason matt smith and jenna louise coleman (clara from the show) were at the Nerd HQ panel with Richard Madden..... Her and Richard are dating.
Talk about a nerd fan marriage! They should get him on Doctor Who for a show.

Not familiar with him but I'm glad they skewed older this time. Looking forward to seeing how Craig Ferguson talks about this on his show, he and Capaldi are old friends.

Yeah for some reason I was hoping he would be older too. He seems to be a big fan which is always a plus.

aww man!! im so excited for this now! but time warner cable took cbs off so ill have to wait til tuesday morning. :(
Capaldi I know from The Hour and he had a small role in the first generation of Skins. Both roles he plays a very much brooding sort of dark character, not exactly what you'd call 'chipper'
It seems like a very stark contrast to Matt Smith's tigger-esque doctor, so I'm wondering what's going to happen in the 50th anniversary & xmas episodes. Since the show's reboot it seems like the Doctor has been 'lightening up' with each generation. I'm not saying Capaldi can't do that type of character he seems like a great actor and probably could, but if he plays the role in that darker, haunted man type of way that i've seen him do before, it certainly begs the question of exactly what is going to happen that will send the Doctor back into a more serious type of personality.

I think that's exactly the point, to change it up a bit. Personally I'd like his level of darkness to be where the 9th doctors was. I think some of the older doctors were a little TOO dark, it almost directly contradicts the purpose of the doctor, like the 1st 3rd and 6th doctors, they were a little to "win at all costs and I'm better than everyone else" type characters. I like the mentality of the 2nd, 4th, 7th and 9th doctors, they are all for peace but don't mind bending the rules a bit when it's for the greater good. My favorite mentality would be that of the 5th 10th and 11th doctors but like I said I think it's time to change it up since we've had 2 in a row like that, then hopefully end with a 13th doctor that is like that.
Oooh, boy. Here is the thing: I love that they went older with this Doctor. I love that they went with a veteran actor who can handle comedy and drama with equal aplomb. It's an added bonus that he is chums with Craig Ferguson, one of the coolest guys of all time. Yes, he was in a very prominent role in The Fires of Pompeii. fine, that can be hand-waved away I suppose...BUT.
BUT.
This is the actor that played John Frobisher, one of the most memorable characters in Torchwood: Children of Earth, a role that is forever seared in my mind with some pretty heavy scenes (will not spoil anything here for anyone who has not seen it) and as I understand, the Torchwood universe is the same as the Doctor Who universe. Captain Jack is the head of Torchwood, for goodness sake! MASSIVE SPOILER: Frobisher put a hit out on Captain Jack! and now he's supposed to be the Doctor?
It's a petition to light the Empire State Building Tardis Blue on November 23rd to celebrate Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary. These people: http://nyscifi.com/ have submitted the application and they have gotten support from some DW cast members too. So sign the petition, it'll take 2 second and it'll be sooooo awesome.
If they do this I'll take photos and post it here. But keep in mind I take really, really, really terrible photos. But I'll do it anyway. Just for you guys.
