and of course they'll tour. they have an album to promote. of course it'll be next year. it'll be our summer. id also bet my house it'll be our last tour apart from perhaps solo projects. another reason for real shows. anyway, either way, enjoy the show. it might even be as entertaining as the playground called the pit.impatience is a gift ........0

heh. well, console yourself with the idea that if it is bdo, it mite rain. we can wear red gumboots with lightning bolts painted on them and hit the babies in the pit with our poster tubes if they get in our way
seriously tho. it wont be. not even slightly worried.impatience is a gift ........0 -

my only hope is that the count down clock is still ticking and that means no new announcements in the near future.
album release on that countdown!
I have seen plenty of older people at BDO in the past. I consider myself old at 30:shock:
Well I'm over 50 and don't think I can go a whole day in the heat or rain listening to all the other bands that I don't know amongst the young kids getting drunk or stoned. Do they even have seats at the showgrounds anymore? Its been a while since I went to a concert there....Bruce Springsteen comes to mind and The Police back in the 80's.
Rod Laver sounds a much better option.....after the tennis season.Im so happy with my righteous self..0 -

dimitrispearljam wrote:you really believe with pj on stage will be a" poor atmosphere "??
With the risk of being flamed....
My opinion is that Australian Music Festivals have become more about the music and more about the youth of our great country expressing themselves, drinking and carrying on.
Yes for some people it's about the music, In Western Australia we went through a spate of festivals were young kids died as a result of taking drugs and dehydrating, now it is not uncommon to see police dogs walking around the queue's sniffing each patron as you enter, there were even amnesty bins where you had the opportunity to dispose of your drugs before entering.
Festivals in Australia are just different. I listen to the boots of the South American shows and it is obvious that the crowd there adores the band and understands there is more to them than the hits the casual fan knows about through the radio.
If they do play the BDO whilst it will be a shame I will no doubt pay the $180 dollars for the ticket just to see my favorite band play in my backyard again. No other acts interest me so I no doubt get there a few hours before the show, sink a couple of drinks and hope to enjoy the show as close to the stage as possible.0 -

your move now wrote:zenith wrote:do you know how long its been since i posted here. long enuff that half you bdo worrisome kiddies wont even know me.
the same old rumour happens every year. the same old people whip everyone into a frenzy every year.
but like always, not a hint of it happening on their own site. not a tweet. not a click. not a tick. not a thing. yea i know 10c m/ship wont be getting bdo tkts. but there would still be a bread crumb or two.
im stuffed if i know why everyone keeps falling for this.
and geez louise. even if the sky caves in and they play the worst festival in australia. do you want to see pj??
buy. a. ticket.
These are much more credible than previous rumours, not only is some kind of tour likely early next year but the rumours are coming from a large variety of sources not just one or two
Large variety of sources? Nope, there is only one "source" and it is/was that radio reporter guy. All of the other Tweets, links, news stories all reference that one "source." Just because other media outlets run with another story as a source does not make it true, this has become a real problem with media over the past few years(esp in the US but nice to see it is taking hold around the world). Lazy reporting = bad reporting."Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It's worse than Detroit."0 -

Not quite.
The weight behind this is Adam Zammitt and Ken West who are the men who run the BDO. They've both stated "3 headliners, 2 of which have never played an Aust festival" and "3 white whales".
I've also laughed off the Pearl Jam/BDO rumours in years past, but it seems very real this time around.0 -
Go to page one of this thread....hate to say I told you so...my source was solid from the get go.
No QOTSA but Snoop and Blur instead.
Just an idea;
Fan club only show would be EPIC, HISTORIC and is what the fans would cherish for years to come.
First tix if you 10C Membership from the town they are playing then open it up to the country, then the world....
Think if we start to lobby now we are a chance?
Imagine PJ at the Palace on Bourke St. Or at the Corner Hotel! One can only dream.0 -
My favorite part about this rumour is tons of Aussies and Kiwis are upset at the thought that PJ would do BDO festivals instead of a proper tour and I'm sitting here stupid excited that they are gonna be playing at all during the month I have off and I get to go TRAVEL someplace AWESOME to see them!
Sorry guys, I get where you are coming from even though I'm unfamiliar with BDO I'm kind of relating it to Warped Tour - which is a f'kin nightmare and a half filled with dumbasses and 12 year olds - and dumbass 12 year olds - and theres just way too much wankery (love that word) and drunken drugged up idiots who don't understand that alcohol does not hydrate you. And I'd be pretty disappointed if I heard PJ was ONLY playing Warped Tour in the US one year.
But I still feel like a kid on Christmas morning waiting to hear that announcementNYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

Just over 10 hours until we get the official lineup announcement from BDO. :?
And anyone who thinks there will be special 10 club shows in Australia next year is dreaming .. If they were going to do that wouldn't you think they'd do it in the US first??Sydney, Australia - March 12, 1998; Sydney, Australia - February 14, 2003; Sydney, Australia - November 8, 2006; Sydney, Australia - November 25, 2006; Brisbane, Australia - November, 2009; Gold Coast, Australia - January, 2014, Gold Coast, Australia - November 20240
