It is about a 99% chance PJ will headline. When it goes through so many sources it is usually true. If it were bogus it would have stopped after about 2 articles.

For Melbourne fans there may be good news on the sideshow front. Just noticed AAMI Park isn't being used for the A-League that weekend, so that, as well as Music Bowl, could be teed up for sideshows.

Ah well... If they play it, they play it.

They'll play twice in Sydney... That means, I get to see them twice...

Still a little surprised that there is no countdown, or tweet. Maybe because 10c will have no pull with BDO so it doesn't matter if we don't have our memberships up to date?

if they are playing BDO, then pj hq would be embargoed until BDO announce it.

... if the rumours are true that is... :corn:

Come ON travel Package!!! I really hope they have something going like they did in 2009 where I can pay some travel agency every penny I have to sort out things like flights and transportation. I could do the rest myself. Actually I could probably do the flights too. I just really need a chauffeur.

BTW, the announcement will be 6am EST, assuming the 8pm time listed on their website is AEST.

  • Snoop Lion... Classic. Can you imagine the back stage antics between PJ and Snoop? Fly on wall please.

Sydney x 2 is an expensive weekend. Having been there this year in 46 degree heat I think all 2013 returnees should get a 2 for 1 offer... Dreaming.

I am really pumped to see them and hoping that the BDO brings out the best in the guys.

I'm crossing my fingers for a regular tour, or at the very least some side-shows.

After the blast that was Australia 06 , then missing Australia and New Zealand 09 due to a severe case of Spectrum closing respiratory chaos , absolutely desperate to get back . And to trade cold for heat in the process , it's all good . Do hope that PJ play arena shows as well as festivals. The more the merrier. Passport. Check . Visa . It's on the way . In for a penny , in for a pound this go round .

I think in a lot of cases the reason for being cynical about the BDO crowd is people just wishing the band would do a stand alone tour. When the North American tour was announced, I think a lot of Aussies thought a similar Australian run would follow. When the reality doesn't match the hopeful thoughts, we can look to venting our disappointment. And yes, I know nothing is confirmed yet, but I think that is where people are coming from.

And yes, indeed I will be thankful for the chance to see them again - wherever that may be.
That's right. Hey I think it's great that some people love the BDO but in my opinion it hasn't been what it used to be for a long time. Each to their own. Regardless, the fact PJ looks like they will be there is promising that it might be better this time. Arcade Fire does nothing for me to be honest but Blur would be interesting to see.

Well, if BDO is looking to recapture the golden days, Pearl Jam would be a good way to start. I agree with you there. Of all the other rumoured bands, I can't say any do anything for me. Methinks I will be rocking up around half-an-hour to an hour before PJ hit the stage. Then again, we could all be getting worked up for nothing. We'll find out very soon.

I am much less grumpy when it comes to concerts than festivals, haha.

If PJ play at the Big Day Out festival next year there is a chance of them playing no other shows which is what RHCP did when they played at this year's festival.

If they decide to do other shows, they will be in Melbourne and Sydney only.

  • Don't get me wrong, i would love a stand alone tour, but after all of these years of rumours every year, i really do feel that it is going to happen. Be thankful that they are touring here at all! And if it does happen, then due to the small amount of downtime between shows, and the small number of their own shows that they will be able to do, i truly believe that they will be back here in the not too distant future to repay the faith. A tour without an album to promote! Those ones are the best!
anyways, we will find out in 48 hours :corn:

True, enough rumours suggest it will eventually turn into fact - especially considering the white whale comment.

For me, I am far more comfortable in a concert environment - and even then I can struggle. But what niggles at me is if they do a stadium tour, there is going to be a truckload of Pearl Jam fans made happy (40,000+ when they played Etihad in '09). A festival run and a chunk of PJ fans are going to feel alienated and probably won't attend. For me, it has nothing to do with long-time fans versus casual fans - anyone who digs Pearl Jam on any level is cool by me.

That said, it's impossible to make everyone happy. All will be revealed tomorrow...

Should make for an interesting crowd if Snoop is coming. I actually find Snoop to be a funny and entertaining guy, but I'm not interested in watching him perfomr a full set at BDO. He does make sense for the festival though as the only bands mentioned up until now (Pj, Blur, Arcade Fire) don't exactly scream "young crowd".

Maybe PJ and Snoop will colaborate ala Jay-Z and 99 Reasons....

Hopefully there are some great mid range bands on the line up as well.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me
