i arrive on the 18th at 11:00 am
taking the orange line downtown to the hotel, and if its hot and sunny, going to the Oak St beach
after a nap and a schvitz at the hotel, we are going to go to the hotel bar to see if there are any women that appear to have had too much ... if that proves fruitless its off to The Viagra Trinagle for the night
the 19th
sleep in and try not to drink too much water, i want to be good and dehydrated for wrigleyville and the show, peeing is going to be impossible that night

I am flying in on the Thursday around noon. I'll check into the hotel and probably go and find some Chicago pizza to eat. Go to the concert on Friday, probably hang around Wrigleyville most of the day. Saturday, probably do some sight seeing. A friend of mine is coming and he has never been to Chicago. I am sure we'll do the Navy Pier, Willis Tower; usual stuff. I am leaving on Sunday afternoon.40+ shows, it is never enough!0

Wow I didn't even realize that the concert is 1 month from today!
Fantastic!Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.0 -
My nephew and I will drive from Cincy and arrive the morning of the show.
We'll look for tickets and drink some beers.
If we don't find tickets, we had a fun little road trip, and we'll head home when the show has officially begun.
If we do find tickets, we'll hang out, drink some beers and after the show sleep in the car.
After a few hours of sleep, we'll head back to Cincy.
Solid plan. What could go wrong? :?Peace, Love.

Buzz in from TX Thursday afternoon, meet my temporary roommates for the first time, eat pizza with an old friend I've not seen in 10 years, get pic taken inside glass box at Sears tower, maybe hook up with a fellow faithfull for green grass and high tides.
Friday is all day PJ: the peeps, the pre-parties, the show, the after-parties.
Saturday catch the red eye back to TX high as a kite on PJ.
Gonna be a looooong Saturday recuperating after all that adrenaline.

I leave Co on July 14, very early...roll into Joplin late that night, sleep. Hang out with friends for the 15th. Pack up my sisterleave the 16th, get into Chi town the 17th. Check into our hotel, go get drunk by the pool and relax.. By this point I'll have driven almost 48 hours! Thursday. Check out the free zoo in Lincoln Park. And the She'd Aquarium. Find a park to have a picnic in. Head down to Wrigleyville to hand over my donation to the Wishlist peeps, and hang out for the pre-pre-party. Go back to the hotel, kick it by the pool again maybe..
Friday, get up early, check out Kake Michigan and Willis tower. Run Back down to Wrigleyville for the fundraiser and then it's off to the Schilling for lunch beers and friends! Then, off to the show!!
Then after the show, it's in to videotape the shit show over at Slugger's!
Saturday.. Recoup. Go check out downtown, and see the art museum. Then who knows??
We leave Sunday!
I am soooo excited! I've always wanted to go to Chicago! Anyone that can suggest a good Jazz club?? Or a Blues house?? That would just make the whole trip super tight!0 -

Staying at the Hyatt on Wacker. Dad and I are going to the show (he's a 10c member and won field/lower bowl seats through the lottery). My mom and brother got tickets to see Book of Mormon the same night PJ plays. Saturday my dad has made it a mission to eat at a Mexican restaurant he reads about in Food & Wine Magainze. Head back on Sunday. Nice little family vacation.
Is the Mexican Restaurant called Frontera Grill? That is the epic Mexican Restaurant I heard about:
" Frontera Grill is owned by Rick Bayless who has a TV Show “Mexico: One Plate at a Time” . They do have 3 restaurants downtown all in one building. Frontera, Topolobambo and another one that begins with an X. Topo is $$$$, Frontera is $$$ X is $$. X is the only one that sells Torta’s. Frontera has a special stuffed Poblano pepper (which I’ve never gotten) that is sold out early in the day—its supposed to be amazing. Their guacamole is awesome, as is their margaritas and I can speak from experience that their Chocolate Pecan Tart is out of this world delicious. The main dish obviously did not move me because I can’t remember what I got."
We are also staying at the Hyatt on Wacker. Maybe we can meet up with PJ Soul in the hotel bar I keep hearing about!
Xoco (pronounced Cho - Ko) is Bayless' fast casual joint, and is fantastic for lunch. Try to get there close to 11 when lunch opens, the line will probably be crazy by 1130.
I also saw your interest in Chicago Music Exchange, one of my favorite spots to drool. You probably have a million things to do on Saturday, but if you're in a jamming mood my guitar school has a couple workshops open that day, and can even loan guitars. It's a few miles up north but the CTA Brown line will take you right there. Workshops are open for everyone.

For jazz I'd check out the Green Mill. Steps away from the Red Line (Lawrence station) a few stops north of Wrigley. It was good enough for Capone, so you should be in good hands.
Chicago is a blues town though, so I definitely recommend Kingston Mines and B.L.U.E.S., both on Halsted in Lincoln Park and open seven nights a week. Red line to Fullerton station would get you within walking distance. If I remember right you're staying south loop/chinatown area, Buddy Guy's Legends is closer to that area and always has good options.0 -

Thursday evening, apparently I'll be wandering into the hotel bar to look for people in PJ shirts
I'm gonna try to do the Museum of Surgical Science on Friday before the show,or the other tower that's not the Sears one ... with the bar with the view... what was it again? Hemlock? Hendricks? Heimlich? HANCOCK!!!! The Hancock tower. We'll see how it goes with the friend I'm picking up tickets from.
Then the show!! yay!
Saturday will include sightseeing stuff and possibly that Whitesox game.
