I'm getting the train from Carlisle... total cost for me is only £54

    http://www.trainline.co.uk

don't put it in as a return ticket... the best thing is called an Advance Saver ticket.. what you do is book two Single Journeys... my one way to london from carlisle cost £18 all in and London-Carlisle is £36 just because its a Friday

see also http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/buy_tickets/default.aspx and click on the box that says Virgin Value... it usually always cheaper to buy it as 2 single journeys

    see how you go!
Tried that Dunkman, thanks, but 146 was the best I could find. (That is for 2 adults) Also it involves a bus for part of the journey because of engineering works....so not worth the hassle.

    Anyone know of cheap parking?

Well since it's almost three weeks away, I have NO idea what I'll be wearing  but considering the weekend that's in it I'd say my Ireland rugby jersey will be a good bet :)

My sister's coming to London with me (IrishAngel) but I'll be going to the gig on me own :)

Booking flights today and sorting out accommodation at some stage too.

I realise it will cost me £8 toll into London (unless I arrive before 0630). Our hotel is down Oxford street somewhere, and I was wondering if anyone has some secret parking tips to keep the costs down a little?

This may not help much but before I lived down here, I'd park in the North of London in a residential area and then hop on the tube into London. Cheap and less stressful.

Holy shit! I think I'm in!

 REALLY????? Well flights aren't looking overly cheap

Rang around today and to book from a travel agent is 106euro each - from Ryanair to Stanstead (cheapest - how far out is it?) would only be 50 each including all taxes but flying at ridiculous times :D but I don't care. My sister's really gonna have to get working on finding a credit card SOMEWHERE.

Do you have flights yet? Heathrow is apparently where you need to fly to, otherwise you'll spend a week and a half trying to get across the city.

    I agree.

I've never been to the Royal George, but I work not very far from there, so I'd happily sacrifice myself to go and test it for all of us on a lunchbreak orso. Or after work. For several weeks.

No flights yet - dunno what I'm gonna do. Think I might just book at that travel agent after work. Not too bothered about having to travel loads though - I hate the bloody tube. Wouldn't mind just getting on a bus at an airport, going to sleep and waking up in the middle of the city.

i've been there quite a few times and suggested it purely because of its location. you can spill out onto the street too if its busy inside. that's its selling point really :) take a few steps out of the door and you can gaze lovingly at the Astoria!

Yes, I'll be around with psycosmic from this board. There isn't much to say about me really. If I say that I'm tall with long dark hair and I'll be wearing blue, you will know who I am. I say that before every PJ show and people spot me.. so I hope it works this time!

haha... yeah, you can add me to the list, Scot :)
you'll be able to spot blue_rain and i'm the short guy who's going to be with her... and i'm quite positive that i'll be wearing something - you can't miss me ;)

    good call for the suggestion

its gonna be murder when it comes to meeting up with folk... the bar staff will think we're nutjobs... calling each other Blue Rain and Chumfatty and the likes ... we'll maybe have to sort out proper names on the day or folk will think its a travelling group of surreal porn stars or starwars fanatics :D

I don't want to call anyone by the name of chumfatty!! That could warrant a slap!
I'll be bold right now - my real name is Laura!
