The quality of art is subjective. You either like or you don't. There is no "right" answer. I personally don't like this poster, and I won't be buying it. Doesn't mean it isn't good, just not my taste.2006 PJ/Petty Milwaukee Night 1

So it's not okay to call a Frank poster ugly - but it is okay to say Ames posters are?5against1- wrote:RESPECT FRANK YOU DIPSHITS, for the newbies out there Frank pretty much started the gigposter scene for PJ. This is much better than Ames has been giving us. And we all know that most of you can't get off Barry's nutsack....

they are going to hate the other 2 even more. lol.
maybe I should do like some complicated trees with insects next time.
all I know is Eddie Vedder specifically requested this style and he LOVED them. So, thats all I need out of the deal.
I'll have these up for sale soon on my sales site.
He basically told BK his Hawaii print from 09 sucked and had Volcum design the gig poster. This later became an art print... Oh and stone decided against SA print before so the guys in the band do pay attention to this stuff...
Also i doubt Ed would tell Frank the posters suck - even if he thought that.
Any job where you are selling things to the public will encounter criticism.

I noticed many people in here didn’t like this one, hahaha... could it be?
(I’ve read some even called it “the ugliest poster ever”.)
The thing is… I LOVE IT. For many reasons…
So, maybe, since no one seem to like it, someone would be willing to get rid of it at no cost.
I’ll do him/her the favor of paying the shipping cost!

so there is the triptych...I like seeing them as a set, but I wouldn't buy them. I do own that Calgary '11 Kozik, and in the portfolio it will stay. No plans on framing it.The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

hahaha!
yeah, Paul... love it.
First, it's a classic Kozik work. With just one look, you can tell. I find that valuable.
Second, makes a strong statement about communism and consumerism at the same time.
Third, it talks about entertainment in a way that makes you think.
Forth, it has rock n roll, no doubt about it.
Fifth, it dialogues with the pop art tradition in a mature and intelligent way, specially with Warhol's work.
Sixth, c'mon, it's an EV poster.
...
Really, love. I'll probably buy it some day.pdalowsky wrote:cendh wrote:I noticed many people in here didn’t like this one, hahaha... could it be?
