Those two alone should allow him plenty of leeway in what he comes up with.

Gotta know your art. That's obviously respect to classic Andy Warhol. Warhol did a famous portfolio of screenprints from a series called "Myths" in 1981. I viewed them at Cleveland's Contemorary Museum of Art. And there's a gigantic 30 foot high Mao on one of the top floors at The Met in NYC.

    Now ya know!

Regardless of where the idea came from, and if it is a "homage", it's still fucking ugly.

I mean, who in their right mind is going to hang that on their living room wall? In my house that would be grounds for divorce.

Hopefully the rest of the kozik tryptich doesn't reside in Austin or Houston... I would like to get something worthy of hanging on my wall..... (not that IU'll be allowed to....) :fp:
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
  • Shep -- you totally called some Kozik in Texas
  • Yikes!

And the winner for the most BUTT UGLY poster ever created is......
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

Eddie Vedder was in El Paso last night and Frank Kozik did the first of 3 posters for his current solo tour. At the request of Eddie Vedder for some 'old style' Kozik pieces Frank nailed it.

    :o Uh-OH!

Really awful. I was surprised to see quite a few people walking around with them.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Soto, Klausen, Munk1, Mark5 -- the run of good posters burned fast and furious early on the tour!

I would also note, from those first 4 posters, hehehe, very carefully note, hmmm, the quality of art for EV vs PJ is becoming quite noticable.

But hey, it's Art and we all get to love it or hate it with every bit of validity as the next person.

Oh wait, i spoke too soon, there's still plenty of potential on this tour: Burwell, Emek, Hampton, Maxx242, hehehe. Man there's a lot of good artists out there -- hate it when they phone 'em in though (cough: Vancouver). Rare for eddie -- wonder if the "teaming up" idea was to get the juices flowing for the standard crew during PJ Europe, lot of those worked fine.

    I like the Kozik.

What Vedder and the band need to do is request the services of Todd Slater in the future.
    Love his work.

That would be sweet... I just recently discovered Todd via his contribution to ACL this year for the Black Keys... I ordered that and the older Dead Weather ACL poster from 09... can't wait to see them when they show up...

I used to.... before my significant other moved in with me... now all my posters have been relegated to spare bedrooms and blind spots in the house...

I consider all of it art, and it's much more worthy of wall space than mass produced, generic decorations from pottery barn.... especially after you make it look all pretty with a nice frame and matts... plus it's art I have a memory associated with that makes me smile whenever I look at it.... what more could you ask for really?

RESPECT FRANK YOU DIPSHITS, for the newbies out there Frank pretty much started the gigposter scene for PJ. This is much better than Ames has been giving us. And we all know that most of you can't get off Barry's nutsack....

they are going to hate the other 2 even more. lol.

maybe I should do like some complicated trees with insects next time.

all I know is Eddie Vedder specifically requested this style and he LOVED them. So, thats all I need out of the deal.

I'll have these up for sale soon on my sales site.
    This too shall pass.....
