I have to say... It's not the kind of poster I'd hang up on my wall, but it is interesting.

I also would like to say, for being a concert poster enthusiast and for all of the concerts I attend, ANY poster offering at the merch table is appreciated. I love a poster commemorating the show I've attended!

The other thing people are forgetting - Mark5 is releasing 16x24 prints of his postcards for all of Eddie's shows (and they're ALL gorgeous!)

Art is subjective and I'm trying to appreciate all of it. Sometimes I don't get it, other times I do.

I absolutely love how you tell us to respect Frank, then you openly bash Ames, and Frank is taking an underhanded crack at several other pearl jam poster artists, including Klausen - who most people think does an amazing job.

Art is subjective, both you and Frank need to relax.

Personally, I don't really like any of Frank's work, even the classic PJ posters from the early nineties, I think they're all fugly. I don't like his style, and I'm not going to hesitate to say it... that doesn't mean disrespect to frank, it makes I think the thing is ugly.

That being said, if I was at the show, I would have bought it. I like having the keepsake... I mean I have a copy of the Dabs and Myla poster from Toronto last year, and that thing is just as ugly.

Putting art out there, it's going to be critiqued... and if it gets more dislikes than likes, maybe that should tell the artist something... or maybe it'll just be another reason for the artist to say "fuck you" to the public like Frank is doing in the post you just reiterated above.

I'm going to drop this arguement now, as I'm sure it's going to be received with open arms by you.... :roll:

Respecting something and not liking something are two different things. I should clarify, I don't think he phoned this one in, concept, execution is there, just doesn't say "El Paso" or "Eddie Vedder" or really anything to me beyond being a well executed curious montage of pop culture imagery...

But then, huh, I like his Amesterdam poster, but not his Manchester. (Wow! Love his Stormtrooper SG poster... and that's about that. All those muscle car gore zombie posters, yeah, those would have floated my boat about 30 years ago... Prolly why he's nowhere on my radar...)

The last one is from my first PJ show in Seattle's Key Arena in '96 and can't imagine displaying it anywhere else!!

I first looked at it and said wtf
but looked at it again the detail behind the face is intriguing
those are holes of something bigger eyes maybe, maybe I am high but they dont look like ears to me
I remember the St Louis poster last year I got it cause I was at the show
got back and read on the forum how ugly it was, if you saw in person and stared at it
on your wall it's not so bad.
the blues are fantastic and placed to perfection
everything happens for a reason and its all meant to be
Its not the fact of the matter its the matter of the fact
I would like to see in person before I go and say anything bad about it
I can't do it that good so right there I already have to say its ok

I understand the public criticism part and agree 100%.

Ed did turn down BK Hawaii 2009 which later turned into a kick ass art print.

I still don't understand why he went with the Volcum print

just to tell you this..
i buy the posters from all the shows ive been,no matter the artist or if i like the poster.
from there i have only the posters i love alot from shows i wasnt there(like edmonton 11,ev both chicago 11,isle of white 12,dussedolf 07,hartford 10 slc 09 etc)
i see the foto of poster or the poster in person..i say if i like it or not...it doesnt matter which artist is to me for like it or not....is if i like what i see or not....
and there are some posters,that no matter what someone like or not..objectively is beautiful or ugly..
this one,and sorry Mr Kozik,its ugly.....the worst part actually is his reaction..
dont give a shit about the fans,costumers and cares only the deal with eddie..
and he is iroinic to others artist job ,saying that about the trees...
well,respect is something you earn it,and Mr kozik ,doesnt have mine...no matter i like his posters or not
