Noticed your location... this is for you and anyone else who is local (NYC).
There's a little record store around the way from my place that I've passed many times, but never saw them open for business. Last week, while looking on Craigslist, I found this ad for them, that they were going out of business. http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/clt/3370532529.html
I did manage to make it over to them last weekend to find about 30 records, after the 75% off sticker, cost me only $80. They have a bunch of interesting stuff too. Lots of Beatles, Dylan (including some box set), Stones, Rush, U2, Kiss, lots of 70's and early 80's stuff... nothing newer than that.
What I can remember picking up...
Who - Kids are Alright, Quadrophenia, Live @ Leeds
Elton John - GH & Here and There
Paul Simon - GH
Michael Jackson - Bad & Off The Wall
Prince - Purple Rain (sealed)
Huey Lewis - Sports (sealed)
Beatles - Live @ Hollywood Bowl
Traveling Willbury's - Volume 1
Rush - Moving Pictures
U2 - War
Sade - Diamond Life
Jim Croce - GH
Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story
Drifters - GH
John Lennon - Collection
& a dozen or so more I can't remember right now.
The vinyl is not mint (other than the sealed) but with patience, I was able to find mostly very good to excellent pieces. Dirty ones which will get a wash and a hairline here and there. A few sleeves look beat up too, but for about $2.50 a piece, I'm not complaining. Check out the Craigslist link and give them a visit if interest.0 -
