So many good songs on this!

I just picked this up a few back, great album.
I agree! Do you have any of their studio releases on vinyl Wil, any that you can recommend? After listening to this for the first time in 20 years or so, has made me want to dig a bit deeper...

well I bought the clear version, or so I thought, only 1 of the LPs was clear, the second LP with the etched 4th side was black, so I guess they can't put the etched pic on the clear vinyl? Did anyone else buy the clear vinyl 2 LP and have the same thing?

oh well, it sounds fucking awesome though, I cranked that shit :D

Yeah, that is weird that it has two different coloured records, I've have the same before with a 'Pixies Best Of' (orange and black) that I picked up. Doesn't really matter I guess, as long as it sounds good, and I'm glad to hear 'Core' sounds so nice...

I didn't pick up vinyl today, but a minidisc   I brought my old MD-player over from Germany, and I always look for PJ MDs in record stores... Today, I found the Singles soundtrack on Ebay for 30 bucks, and made an impulse buy. Funny, when I researched a little later, I only found these popping up for more than 100 bucks ... Cannot wait to get it in the mail and try it on my device. Yeah, I don't have the vinyl, but the MD is pretty cool as an item too :D

I might look out for more of these ...

Not the re-issues which I know are out or near being out. The shop had the Nevermind re-issue but it was NZ$130(US$100ish I think), it didn't seem to have a download of the extra stuff & I doubt I'd play the extra records that much tbh so I went for the standard. Anyway, I've wanted Unplugged on vinyl for a while now so YAY! :D

Nice! "Nevermind" is awesome on vinyl. I'm guessing "Unplugged" sounds great as well. :D

Are these the new Universal pressings (as opposed to the ORG pressings that came out 3 years ago)?

Stay away from the 3 disc Nevermind. The mastering on it is terrible. Its brickwalled to shit. I can't speak to how it compares to yours, but the ORG pressing blows it away.

It's been literally decades since I've had the pleasure of hearing a new Sandy Bull record (new as in new release- Bull died in 2001). Having seen Bull live in 1970, I'm totally stoked to be hearing this! At last, Sandy Bull live on vinyl!

Not sure tbh. They both say 'new' & were sealed(note: *were* 8-) ) so I wasn't sure but then I see on the receipt one of them said something about being a re-press or re-issue.

I'd like to get a little more familiar with this band. My wife says she knows one of the band members. Any suggestions as to where to start?

my favourite is this album, Pork Soda is another good album too, except lots of weird lyrics and odd song structures, but Les Claypool on bass is worth the listen, he's incredible, what he can do with the bass

  • Question for everyone. I'm going to be moving to Nashville in the next month or so. What is the best way to move vinyl? i saw some boxes on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/BCW-Brand-Record-Storage-Removable/dp/B005LLLZZW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376775179&sr=8-1&keywords=vinyl+record+storage+box and was wondering if this was the way to go or if there was a better way that might be cheaper. Any suggestions welcome and thanks in advance.
  • Tim SimmonsTim Simmons Posts: 8,079
UHaul or Home Depot ave some 14x14 boxes. Those will do the trick as well and are much cheaper.

Tip: if you are hiring movers, try to move the records yourself in your car. With you, its easier to keep the temperature reasonable and care taken so that they don't get dropped or smashed.
