kudos to 10c. The people spoke. They listened. Fans have a chance now to own something. I am not purchasing the new set but I can't tell you how nice it is to see them find a compromise and not ruin the integrity of the limited original version but still make those who missed out very much happy. Sure some will be upset as they have mentioned here in this thread but you can't make everyone happy and think of all the net happiness gained from those that never had the opportunity until now.0

Those who bought the original still have a different and more collectable product. If they put the EXACT same thing out for $30 cheaper, you MIGHT have a better argument, though as others have pointed out, having it for an extra year to enjoy might be worth it to most.
Being in the camp of those that missed out, I'm obviously thrilled with today's news. Hopefully they will take pre-orders for an allotted period of time and give notice rather than having some arbitrary number they plan to produce.
Thanks for the second chance 10C!0 -

mine didn't...just 3 discs, each in a sleeve
I don't consider a credit sleeve a "20 page booklet"
I believe you have this.
When I read "booklet" I don't expect anything different from this, I guess they are the same liner notes and pics, but in one booklet, rearranged... that's it...... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...0 -
Great, I'll buy the BD even though I have the old DVD set.
But how come they were twice as expansive? Just to make the money of because it was a more limited run?"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -

Let's hope this version is better because there are some bizarre pixillation situations in the first go round...

Nice job ten club on re-releasing this so more people could get it that missed out the first time. Still wish there was a better way to communicate with members when new stuff hits the goods section.1998 - Noblesville

if thats it, then I apologize for questioning them...but, "The more streamlined package contains a 20-page booklet inside the Pizzoli cover." sounds way different
regardless...$30 less for the same thing?

No time like the present. Blu-ray is the way to go. :thumbup:0 -
OMG some people are just NEVER happy!! Of course it's going to be more a year ago. It was a NEW release - a first edition.
I was lucky enough to get it a year ago but I have friends (also 10C members) who weren't so lucky. They are now the proud owners of a boxed set and are over the moon.
Thank you Ten Club!"Rock and roll is something that can't be quantified, sometimes it's not even something you hear, but FEEL!" - Bob Lefsetz0 -
Was so bummed out last year when i couldn't grab one for myself that i can't believe it now!!! just ordered one blu-ray set, OBVIOUSLY!!! thank you 10C and thanks to all the people that signed the petition... i was completely unaware of that petition, or i would've signed it ages ago!0

and you are happy with paying twice the price for a lesser item?
WHY not lower the price of the shirts, the hats, the books, the boots, etc0 -
Has anyone thought of the flippers? This just cost them big time! :fp:0

Of course it sounds different, I don't remember if the old one was only for members, I think it wasn't only for memebers, I don't recall reading anything about any booklet, however, as I said, I think this time they made the booklet out of each 8-paged booklet from each disc, the sleeves and the inner picture sleeve from the cardboard envelope, I don't think there will be any new material, just the old one rearranged...
I edited my post on the first page and I said something regarding the extra 30 bucks. I paid those extra 30 bucks a year ago, almost, so I had the chance to watch and enjoy all three discs for almost a year before, so I don't care about the 30 extra , I can't complain now, but the people who didn't have the chance to get it before and can get it now for half the price are surely quite happy... I see it as a win-win...... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...0
